I went to the gamestop website and was looking through the Wii game info. I decided to check out the PS3 section and saw that gamestop is selling PS3's online now. Apparently they have a huge supply of left over PS3 that they can't sell, just like Walmart's and other stores.
Just out of curiosity I went to the Wii section again and check on buying a system online...NO CAN DO. They have the same page up that they've had since before launch.

Yea, they've had them there since three weeks ago. They sent me an email saying "PS3 available in all stores" They also have the 20g in stock if you noticed. Go to any store, they have 60g, but no 20gs.
Also, circuitcity.com has the PS3 in stock, it regularly goes in and out.
I was in Bestbuy last night, looking where to get Vista (I ended up getting it), and i noticed 5 PS3s sitting there. The guy said they've had them for over a week, they get shipments Mondays overnight usually, and that they got 8 last monday.
Very strange, steady supply, I don't think so, the X360 and Wii were/are still hard to find after they hit/are still at, around the 4m mark.
They have them in-stock again, but only available through another rip off "bundle", I'm so sick of this store.
If you check out their weekly deals, they'll throw in an extra $20 if you trade in a PSP or DS, they're CRAZY!!! As though they're doing us a favor. I for one am boycotting that POS retailer. I'd rather buy from WalMart than GameStop now.

Actually the ones on gamestop are not bundles at all. This just further shows that the PS3 sales are very bad.

Hmm, similar experience yesterday, I went to Wal-Mart, just to window shop at GC games for my Wii and some GC memory, and I over heard a conversation...
Boy: Do you know when your next Wii shipment will be in?
Employee: Luckly we just got news we're getting some 2 weeks from now.
Boy: Thats great!
Employee: But are you interested in any PS3 or Xbox 360 stuff? We have 10 PS3s right here, now!
Boy: What? No, not at all.
Employee: *sigh* ok, good luck on getting a Wii. <_<.
1 of my professors tried to tell me PS3 sales on worldwide launch were more than total Wii sales. i asked him how that was possible when it's so easy to find a PS3 while Wiis don't stick around at all anywhere in the world.

furthermore, every site i've checked has the same thing: 360 in lead, Wii with about half the 360 sales, and PS3 with about a 3rd of Wii sales. i think there's a problem in his info

if hes that much of a pc geek you think he would agree with me in saying "i would rather upgrade my pc for the same price as a ps3 and play 10x better games" hehe
Perhaps he was just listening to Sony spin. They're always touting how great things are going and how the world is still flat.... I'm sure Nomad can talk to him in an adult way and even show him current number that will dispute any spin his professor may have heard. I'm actually rather impressed, because many of my professors couldn't even operatate their cellphones properly, let alone discuss next-gen video game systems.
AFAIK, a rendering card is a graphics card architecturally designed for better CAD rendering performance.
Also, let me clarify something about the cell, which seems to be a common misnomer. Everyone thinks that if the cell processor were ever to be placed in a regular desktop environment, that it's performance would destroy all x86/PPC/ALPHA/SPARC architecture based PCs out there. This is simply not the case.
SPEs do very little in the way of desktop application processing, and the truth is only the main core of the CPU would do ANYTHING, to help performance. Even still, the main numbers thrown at you are performance in multimedia streaming (to a level where it's not needed), and certain data rendering. The pipeline style in this architecture would make for a so so desktop computing performance, that could easily be surpassed by the Intel Core 2 Duo chip.
when did we get into PC specs? i just said he has an incredible rendering card to show he's not completely out of the gaming loop. he's been playing games since before the Atari days and knows about TONS of gaming info dating back to it's origins in the late 50's to 60's and even has a degree in computer sciences specializing in virtual reality. he may not be a fan of Mario, but he does hate Halo which earned him uber cool pts
i just don't see how any info could make it sound like the PS3 is doing better than the Wii. i already wrote down the numbers from vgcharts.org, nexgenwars.com and gwn.com/news all saying the same thingmy class starts in 4 hrs. i'll ask him then and see if his logic came from a reputable source or just BS
