If he only knew how many hardcore gamers are buying wii's i mean sure if i want high end gaming i dont goto nintendo for that ill play pc games not ps3 games. and the biggest thing that got me into a Wii is FPS games where nothing can rival a mouse/nostromo or keyboard. Sept now I really feel that the wii is the best console -graphics for FPS games. who wants to have auto aim and a joystick NOT ME!

i think hes just sad that people wernt as quick to shell out 600$s for a ps3 and rather play the best game on earth on the Wii for less than half that price hah. this interview really just reads like some one trying to defend a losing flamewar on a forum dosent it? heh just saying how the other guys weak and no good reason.

Siny is really desperate, they just think of eveything they can to get people to actualy buy the PS3!

well...i do believe sony made a mistake launching a system without a solid named game. things shut up to hell when you have a high priced system with nothing people would pay to play. but sony has a lot of exclusive with companies with games that are much welcomed by the vast majority. i don't need to say more about the GTAs, GTs, FFs...there are countless of titles that would easily win out the gaming community. as long as they don't loose these exclusives, they have nothing to worry about. wii may win the fight now...but without solid games, it'll soon plunger down the toilet. don't get me wrong...there is zelda, and....zelda, and.....yes zelda. we'll have the Nth title of mario and another smash bros. but personally i'm not all that excited on other titles until the price fall to the bare minimum.

yea i know that Epic is goin to release UT3 on the ps3 i know that it will never hit the Wii. but personaly i wouldnt play it on the ps3 cause again PC > ALL for fps. that is untill i see some more good fps games hit the Wii i have beat CoD3 and Redsteel, replaying them on hard just cause its so much fun to shoot **** with a wiimote. But still not to a lvl of PC for one no online really hurts,a nd your talkin about Devs not bringing good titles to the Wii, i think you will notice alot more than just the classic games released by nintendo (which are allways their big sellers) will be making a hudge impact.

I use to think the string Sony exclusives would save the PS3, but then I looked at my Gamecube collection that it had some incredible exclusives and that system didn't sell well. If the Gamecube was a cheap system that had some of the better exclusives of last gen, why do you think that the PS3 exclusives will save the PS3?`

I think they have even more reason to be upset now...seems the Blu Ray player isn't working right after the last patch

If blu-Ray catches, and game developers finally get onboard this tought to develop for platform.......then I'll grab one (As I sold my 360 to get the wii) but I'll wait....I think that's what most are do'n....there was chatter about them lowering the price too....a lil extra incentive.

Hey Sony, SCOREBOARD!  It sounded like a whiny 5 year-old not getting what they want.  Hardcore gamers aren't getting the Wii?  I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer and I'm not going to list all the systems that I've owned but it is almost in double digits.  Geez Sony, quit complaining and do something about it.

I think the main problem the Wii has to deal with concerns the users coming from the other systems for gaming (PC or PS2). The games on the Wii are all just "all right" - for now, while the new user experience is a hype for itself. I've never had a N console before and I love my Wii (saying "I love my Wii" sounds funny) but I need solid games.
On the other hand, PS3 is promising too much and delivering too little... and all the PS2 players have BIG expectations regarding PS3. Once the games start getting out, the PS3 will grow. I just hope the Wii won't stop growing once the hype is gone - or rather, I hope the Wii will continue to feed the hype

O wait i just realized what he ment by dosent apeal to real hardcore gamers! it must be cause no one in the Wii release launch lines got shot over night. That has to be what he ment. looks like Wii users premote prolife eh?

Xbox 360 stole a lot of exclusives, and is likely to take more. Most people won't spend on a PS3 when they can get a 360, and even more so if they already have a 360. Like I always said, very few people care about blu-ray.

For me, Xbox stole my thunder for the PS2 and that converted me to an Xbox fanboy. I bought the Xbox 360 and enter the Wii60 crowd this year. I'm content now (hopefully). There are a titles that I can't wait for on Wii and 360 (Crackdown ,Tiger Woods, Halo 3). I'm not buying the PS3. Hands up on who doesn't care about Blu-Ray. I'll wait til one format wins the HD DVD & Blu-Ray war or one format gets reasonable.

The best part was Microsoft came out with the HD DVD player that you don't have to buy if you don't want to. There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to all systems but that's my two-cents.

Right now I'm running completely on caffeine... It's 1:30 AM, so when I read that, I was just like "... Huh...?".

EDIT/UPDATE/STILL ON CAFFEINE: Oh... I just read it over and it said basically that the PS3 is winning... lol, what an (@$$) hole! ...still on caffeine...

errr...i'm no casual gamer and the Wii was my first pick...Sony I think you guys are just clinging.

Sony has been carrying a chip on their shoulder for far too long. Releasing a high priced console under the sole assumption that everyone will shell out the dough just because of the brand name has come back to bite them and it's biting them real hard. The Almighty Sony is finally discovering that they're not so almighty after all and they're crying because things aren't going the way they expected. Personally, I think the PS3 is going to die a horrible death if the price stays the same for the 60 gig version (seeing as virtually no one wants the 20 gig version). Sony needs to suck it up and slash prices to show some good faith - just $50 might do the trick, but a price drop of $100 will catapult the PS3 into the competition.

I get targeted for constantly mentioning waiting for a price drop. But its really the main thing that is holding it back, that and a weak launch line-up (But hey, imo the Wii's wasn't amazing besides Zelda anyhoo) and once it gets further into its life and the price comes down. It'll blaze up, I mean I don't actually know how close it will get to the Wii sales or if it'll even surpass it.

Basically Sony needs to consider this a learning curve and walk away from this with some new ideas.

there are about 25 more wii games to rent at blockbuster as opposed to wii games (less games for people that buy the PS3)

PS3's are still sitting on shelfs in eb games, gamestops, etc. while wii's are flying out the door the moment a new shipment comes in
