New York, NY – February 6, 2007 – Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce Manhunt 2 for the PlayStation 2 system, PSP system, and Nintendo’s Wii™. Manhunt 2 is the debut title from the newly formed Rockstar London studio, which is developing the game in conjunction with series creator Rockstar North. The Wii™ version is being developed by Rockstar Toronto. Manhunt 2 will be available this summer.

“With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward,” said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games. “We are also excited to have our newest development team, Rockstar London, working on the title alongside our two established UK studios, Rockstar North and Leeds.”

yay, more bloody games for the Wii, the Wii is now an adult Big Grin
Lets hope its more than just violent, lets hope that its good as well.

But for Rockstar that could be a challenge.
I didn't like the first Manhunt but it got good reviews. Bleh, let's just hope they improve where they sucked this time around.
i had manhunt for the PC and it was awesome I thought. Its entertaining but sometimes was a pain. It was a easy game to beat, but was different by the way you had to lure people in by throwing a bottle to bring in the enemies.

I'll def play Manhunt 2!
Why do people automatically get excited about violent games? Violent does not equal good. In fact, the first game was focusing so hard on trying to make itself the most violent game ever that sometimes they forgot to focus on the gameplay.
This dosen't look to real because it's plain.

EDIT:Trailer
I never played the first Manhunt but now I'm interested in giving it a try.
Im not too interested in M-rated and Ao-rated games, the only ones that have actually interested me has been Halo and Splinter Cell.

Plus i havn't even seen the first one, and im not too much of a fan of gorey, bloody games at all!
Cant wait till this comes out, the first was awsome.

The harshest syringe kill, for example, involves Daniel Lamb, Manhunt 2’s chief murderiser, kicking an enemy to the ground and stamping on him before thrusting the lengthy needle into his foe’s eye. What an eyesore. But by far the most unholy sounding defilement mentioned has to be this ill little puppy: “Later in the game, a member of The Project has both his plums and a pair of vertebrae removed with a pair of pliers.” It’s absolutely bloody nuts.

Other Details revealed by OPM :
• The Director, gangs, CCTV cameras and death row dodger, James Earl Cash, from the first Manhunt won’t play a part

• Manhunt 2’s main character, scientist Dr Daniel Lamb, is locked in a private asylum by The Project - shady backers of a top secret drugs-based weapons program that Lamb was working on

• After breaking out of the asylum, Daniel Lamb goes on the run with psychotic inmate Leo Kasper, who is happy to coach Lamb on the brutal art of violence

• Like the first Manhunt, kills are executed in three deadly shades - Hasty, Violent and Gruesome

• Environmental kills have been introduced (push an enemy face first into a live fuse box, for example)

• Loud ambient noises can be exploited by Lamb to drown out his own crashing about

• When hiding in shadows, if an enemy comes close the player will sometimes have to copy a button combo in order to regulate Lamb’s breathing and ensure that he remains undetected

• Lamb can climb and crawl - two moves that Manhunt’s James Earl Cash couldn’t do

• Guns can be used for stealth kills

:O
Wow thats...just wow.
Too far IMO.
that is wicked sweeeet!
wow. you can never go wrong with blood and gore. I haven't played the first game, but I'm looking forward to this.
I was looking forward to this game when I first heard about it even though I've never played the first one but... I was bored and went to YouTube to see what it was like and saw a video someone put there showing all the different ways of killing someone and then I was like and... After seeing all the different deaths, while some looked cool, leaves a game that doesn't have much else. There would be only so many times you could see the same animation over and over before it got boring. I dunno, just my opinion.
I watched the deaths too. I mean god, a game needs to have some substance but that one just looks like random acts of violence! I mean games with blood and gore can ruel (Resident Evil 4, one of the best games EVER!) but if blood and gore is all your gonna focus on then it'll most likely suck.

I also want to add that the game looks great; it is easily the best looking Rockstar game graphically (with exception to Table Tennis – obviously). It retains the same art direction of the first title but looks a whole lot more polished than anything that has come before it. So far everything is looking outstanding in my opinion, Rockstar have attained everything that made the first game great all while expanding upon it and they appear to be making it for the people that want the game, rather than trying to change the opinions of others.

Saying it's the best looking Rockstar game isnt saying much. The Grand Theft Auto series looked terrible and Bully wasn't much better.
Table Tenis was also Rockstar and that looked great
