his head was attached to a spider robot's body.us he ate Cuban children, but when he tried to go to Cuba to eat Elion Gozales he was killed and we never found out thanks to the Cuban media

rep for who knows where that came from

robot chicken

why do you think I thought of that in the first place? Wink

I.... hunger!!!

"walt disney, must feeeeeeeed!"

"EEEEEEEELLLIIIONN!!!!!!"
No, going at the speed of light is not possible, for our bodies can only withstand a certain amount of Gs before we are crushed. Speed increases gravity.. so to go at the speed of light, we'd have to be indestructable.

And if by some miracle we obtain the technology to go that fast, or to travel in time, the moment we change anything in the past, could change the future completly. So much so that the person who created the technology to go into the past in the first place was never born. Thus you never went back in time. So the past never was actually changed because you weren't there. So the guy who invented the technology was born since you didn't change anything. So you actually did go back in time... Time paradox, this itself proves its not possible. This theory is also known as the Grandfather theory. In case you didn't understand my version... here's the original...

You go back in time and kill your grandpa, since you killed you're grandpa you aren't born, and technically wouldn't be able to kill him in the first place because you aren't born. Which means you couldn't have gone back in time to go kill him in the first place. Meaning your grandpa is alive. Meaning you are born, and we're back at step one Smile

( I thought I was so smart when I thought this up all those years ago.. only for it to be crushed when my friend told me that theory already existed...)
I'd go back to 5PM this afternoon so I could get the 2 hours I spent on just math homework back. Sad
::::::::::::::::::::::
some people say when you look at stars, you are looking at the past because the light takes so long to get here. so, if you could go faster than light it would be easier to solve the problem and bend the space time continuum to jump dimensions.

...yeahh..... I'll just walk away now.
It takes 8 minutes for the light from the sun to reach earth... the light you see is in the the present. Its [ the light] constently reaching us, so we always see it, its not the past.
When did you get all scientific and philosophical?
Umm.. since i was 10? around there.. thats when I was really interested in time and dimension traveling.. I would stay up for hours on end just looking at my ceiling wondering it is possible...
Thats when I came up with the Grandfather theory, but a few months later my friend told me that somebody else already thought of that theory, which made me pretty much give up on philosophy... besides, I already figured it out on my own.

The only way for time travel to be trully possible is if there are alternate dimensions. Everytime we break the space-time barrier, we create a whole new universe. Which would stop this universe from collapsing because of the who time paradox thing, because we'd be trapped in an everlasting circle if time travel is possible, unless of course, for the dimensions.
When we go back in time, we wouldn't go back in a time and change something, it would effect us being born, unless its a different dimension, then we'd effect ourselves of being born, but limited to that dimension. So we will still exist in that dimension, because we are from a different dimension. Thus enabling us to roam that dimension in the past. My theory is we still wouldn't be able to return to the future as we want, because we wouldn't be able to control which dimension we would be going to, or if a dimension would form in the first place. If anything, time travel will cause the universe itself to collapse. So in a way, time travel is the end of the world. Its a good thing its not possible, Wink

If dimension exist, then time traveling exists. But it would do no good, because you wouldn't be changing your direct past anyway, just a different dimensional version of you's past.
not the light from the sun, light from very distant stars.
It just takes longer, but since its constent, there's no difference. Unless a star explodes/implodes creating a blackhole. We'd still see light for a day or two, or more, depending on how far away the star is. Then we'd actually see the light show of it exploding, then zip, unless the light arrived during the day, then we wouldn't see it. So this is sorta where the whole looking at the past comes from, its not the past, it just takes a while for the visuals to get to our eyes. Same thing with everything. it takes us like a gigaplexion (really small number in other words, just threw in the smallest number I knew really >.> ) of a second to see that a light bulb blew out, still took a while for us to see, even if it was almost unrecordable, but its not considered the past. Hope I cleared that up.

...man I was just about to post a thing like that.

I've thought about time travel a lot and figured pretty much what you've said in that post. The fact that if we could time travel we would create a different dimension or just go to a different dimension. Which if we changed something there it would only effect that dimension and not yours.

It's like the theory that there are thousands off different dimensions that are slightly different based on things everyone does. Like the most simple one, if I flipped a coin and got heads, another dimension would get tails. Or perhaps things on an even larger scale, perhaps one dimension WW2 happenned and one or it unraveled differently, like perhaps in one dimension D-day failed, that sort of thing.

It's all so facinating to think about.

Even so, we won't survive to find out... damn global warming >.>
But the people in the dimension where global warming doesn't happen WILL live to find it all out, and then they'll revive us and stop global warming in our dimension. Hooray!
