So if having both The Godfather and Scarface coming to Wii wasn't enough to keep those "Wii is for little kids" people quiet then this should do it. Rockstar has announced that the sequel to the incredibly violent and criticized Manhunt will be making an appearance on Nintendo's Wii, along with Sony's Playstation 2 and PSP.

I'll let the shock set in. And you're not missing something, Wii will be Manhunt 2's only next-gen appearance as an Xbox 360 or PS3 version have yet to be mentioned. It's great to see some M rated content coming to Wii and here are just a few facts for you. The N64 had 25 M rated games in it's lifetime. GameCube recieved 47, while Wii's already got at least 7 coming it's way.

Thanks Wii-Rulez!

In case you were curious the Wii's M rated titles are:
Driver: Parallel Lines
Far Cry Vengeance
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
*The Godfather
*Scarface
*Manhunt

* = not confirmed but assumed to be rated M.

Did I miss any?

Right there. Are you blind? Toungue

I wasn't on the forum much yesterday and today once I got the newsfeed in I didn't check to see if it was already posted on the forum. That happens with me a lot.

Actually yes, that's why I wear glassesBig Grin

Touche, Wii_Rulez, Touche lol.

Back on topic, can't say I'm very excited about this game. But at least it helps Nintendo shake that "kiddy" image they have.
why aren't you happy?
I'm not big on the brutal gorry games myself. Just because something has an M rating and maybe has a few swears in it doesn't mean I have to buy it or like it (Godfather, Scarface, GTA).

I don't play many M-rated games myself, usually only on my friend's houses or something. But I'm excited about this game, not because I want to play it, but because maybe it'll make people stop calling Nintendo a 'kiddy' company...

I'm all for variety and making something for everyone but I hope this doesn't give Nintendo a problem with their 'new' audience. I'm talking about the moms, dads, grandparents, etc... that have purchased the Wii and use it for family purposes. I play M rated games but not because they are M rated.
I play all games pretty much based on what they have to offer. If a game is highly touted and has intriguing elements, odds are I'll pick it up/try it out at some point. Ratings never were a big deal to me growing up in the NES/SNES era. The closest thing to an M rated game I had was Mortal Kombat, and I didn't care what the rating was, I just wanted to do all the fatalities. That's long since worn off though.
I agree. Maybe its because up until the mid-90s ratings didn't matter but it actually bothers me when people just buy/play games becase they are rated M and won't buy/play games that look too "kiddie". Who cares as long as the game is good.
This is pretty cool, but I don't care if it's M rated, sure it'll shut those stupid "nintendo is too kiddie" freaks right up but that doesn't mean it'll be good. If it is good then right on.
