It is indicated in a recent news article that Nintendo Wii consoles are selling that the rate of 3-to-1 over Sony's Playstation 3. There are no signs of the popularity of newly released PS3 to be increasing. While the Wii is still skyrocketing in sales. according to
NexGenWars.com "...shows that global Wii sales are at 4.45 million, while the PS3 is ranked at a mere 1.37 million." Ever since the launch of both systems in Japan and the United States, there has been talk of an official price cut of the PS3. Up until now we were skeptical of this rumor, but i guess now Sony has finally considered it. "Hirokazu Hamamura, president of publisher Enterbrain told Reuters:
“There could be a price cut for the PS3 by the end of the year [2007], and more software titles will hit the market. I expect the PS3 to be doing better after a while.” "
Will this Price cut be enough to give PS3 a big enough f a push to keep them in the sales war with the Wii?

Way to go NINTENDO!! FTW!!
Ya, Sony has a huge fan base, they'll survive.
I'd prefer for them to fall, then the games they would be getting would be moved to the 360 or Wii, which means 1 less system to worry about having.
but since it costs 2 1/2 times as much then its basically a wash
And just as soon as Sony drops the price of the PS3, Nintendo has the room to drop the Wii to $200 and still make a slight profit. Meanwhile Sony loses even more money on every PS3 sold!!!
Way to go Sony...
PS3 the new Dreamcast.
Thats a big thing to say.
Dreamcast bombed pretty bad, the PS3 will pick up.

you never know--it's very possible the PS3 is digging a hole FAR too deep to get its own ass out of
I think one way of knowing is let's see how much better the PS3 does in March when it finally gets its Euro release. That's the last big launch that hasn't happened yet. After that launch is over I think we'll have a clearer picture of the future. Great that the Wii is kicking major butt though. Gives all of us GC owners a sense of satisfaction after PS2 handed us ours.
i might pick up a PS3 if the price drops, i mean it is a fairly good blu-ray player
I'll still wait on the PS3. I want to see something that I must play. I need a killer app. It's going to have to be a huge hit for me to want to get it too.
there are a lot of people i know that are simply waiting for any kind of price drop to purchase the PS3. both systems have new perks coming up, so it all depends on how the consumers will react and how well the new perks come across
PS3: the games, the price drop, the power and graphics
Wii: DVD version, colored Wiis, game lineup
although Nintendo has been able to keep ahead of the game for now, it all depends on how well it can hold it's own at the end of the year.
This is awesome and with the crazy sales of the Wii I think it'll just keep selling like the DS. PS3 just sucks right now game wise and I guess it's a good blu-ray player, but not a lot of people want a vlu-ray player. I'll stick with a normal DVD player.
well you have to remember that the ps3 takes a ton more time and money for sony to make. but i think nintendo knew this and incorporated this into their market strategy.
go wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
PS3 = Dreamcast Round 2
PS3 =/= a good system
Wii = teh uber alpha male
I think if they cut the price up, like to the priceof the X360 primium at leasy, the PS3's sales would go up, by enough.

i think i might agree you, if you dont mind my asking, are you drunk typing
I agree. If Sony would stop being a tightwad with their expenses and cut it to around $400, $375 at the most, people might start buying them. Keyword is MIGHT.
