Zelda Tops One Million on Wii
In North America alone.
by Matt Casamassina

February 8, 2007 - Nintendo's new Wii console has its first million-seller. In an interview with IGN Wii on Thursday, NOA's VP of marketing and corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan, said that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has sold more than one million copies "in the Americas alone." Kaplan also said that Nintendo is well on target to sell through six million Wii systems around the world by the end of March.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is an epic adventure from director Eiji Aonuma, best known for the N64 Majora's Mask and GameCube Wind Waker Zelda titles before it. In the game, players take on the role of Link on a new quest to save Hyrule from the creeping Twilight realm. The title features old and new characters and classic-style puzzle-solving. IGN Wii rated the game a 9.5 out of 10 and selected it as our Wii Game of the Year. It was picked as overall Game of the Year by the majority of online and print outlets.

The edgier Twilight Princess is easily on track to blow the rooftop off sales of the stylistic Wind Waker, which was oftentimes called overly cartoony by critics and fans.

Totally awesome. We've got our first Player's Choice title for the Wii. I'm sure many others are going to follow suit. Congrats, Nintendo!!

I wonder how they will do the player's choice Wii boxart, I like how te 360 does it's platnium hits boxart. The topic right! I wish was included in the number -_-
I saw this post and congratz to the Zelda team for hitting this mark. It will continue to get even larger and larger as more and more Wiis are sold.
Yay! Go Zelda! Good news all around!
no! now I won't be able to get the original box art! noo!!

It takes a while before the boxart actually changes, If it's still selling well in several months which it will, the price & boxart won't change for a while.

Especially the price won't change since good selling games stick wit the same price for about a year or two.
zomg! Nintendo should go with gold for player's choice. Make the white part at the top that has the Wii logo gold. That would look so awesome, especially with Twilight Princess Big Grin.

Or better yet, every Player's Choice game just gets a color that best blends with it's box art, other than white.

it looks so pretty!
because, I don't need a stupid sticker telling me it's the players choice if I already new even before the wii came out that it was gonna be a [insert profanity] good game.

That's a great idea I hoe it's one of thoseBig Grin They're both logical and what else could they do.

1 million copies @ 50 bucks each = buttload o' cash

Which equivocates to around $50 million.

The second Zelda game to come around will be better with sales, because it's supposed to actually use Wii graphics to their limits.
and if there is anything the PS3 has taught us its graphics > gameplay Smile JK
