This pure rumor and speculation and seems that even having Capcom say that they "officially... have no plans or Okami on Wii at this time" can't kill it off. Today IGN was contacted by a "reliable industry insider" who told them that Capcom was considering on bringing the PS2 smash hit Okami to Nintendo Wii. However Capcom has this to say:
"Officially we have no plans for Okami on Wii at this time. Research and development are always looking at possibilities but given Clover is now closed for business, I think it highly unlikely a Wii version would be possible."
Most people, myself included, would leave it at that and let the rumor die, however IGN seems dead set on making sense of it all. It's true that the game could be ported over even without Clover, not to mention that most Clover employees will more than likely just move over into Capcom's offices.
Eventhough it would be really great I doubt an Okami port will be coming to Wii. Keep your fingers crossed though.

If this rumour comes true.
Then thats one less PS2 game I need to worry about.
This would rule, although it seems very unlike
*crosses fingers*

but clover died already!
Capcom owns the rights...
hell, Capcom could make another studio to redesign the game or give it to an already existing studio. just because the parent development team is no longer around means very little in the industry
ok...i played this game for about 15-20 in minutes in my local GAME store
i was far from impressed!
Well it did win numerous game of year awards and nominations.
WOW i hope it really happens, i also played it for a few minutes at Target and i was mighty impressed!
Capcom has already made a new studio, called SEEDS.
Did Capcom make it or was it just made by the former Clover people (and others) as a seperate third party entity?
Ya that could make all the difference, if it's not owned by Capcom then we probably won't be seeing Okami from SEEDS.
perhaps we should call this the rumor portal...
this just in...EVERY great game may or may not eventually be released for the wii

Really? Great! I can't wait. There's so many great games to look forward to now.
Metal Gear, Gears of War, Halo, Final Fantasy, Lost Planet, Resistance, Lair....
^-- that was a sarcastic comment
so was mine...we're friggin hilarious
then *fist bumps* kindrik
I would love to see Okami on the Wii. That game and Guitar Hero are the two games that almost had me buying a PS2.. but we're already getting a GuitarHero...
Now we need Okami. It looks just beautiful.
Also, SEEDS is made up of former Clover members and others..>
We learned late last year that, while Capcom was intent on welcoming the bulk of Clover's 64 employees back into the fold, a select few would not be returning, including Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and the director of Okami, Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe, Hideki Kamiya. Now, at least, we know what's been keeping them busy.
Say hello to Seeds Inc., a new start-up development studio born of Clover's untimely demise, brought about by a supergroup-esque coalition of talent including both Mikami and Kamiya, as well as several others from Clover. While it's very likely that we'll see some extremely original titles coming out of this development studio, don't get your hopes up for an Okami 2 -- at least, not from Seeds. As part of the terms of the studio's dissolution, all of the intellectual property created by Clover Studio has defaulted back to Capcom.
Sounds like the beginning of a Dream Team if you ask me. Now they just need Shaq.
