Wavedashing
An exploit (not glitch) of the physics system in SSBM. Allows the player to slide along the ground by air dodging into the ground. Done by jumping and as soon as the jump animation has started quickly using an air dodge either down left or down right. Doing so will cause you to slide in either direction. The wavedash can be made longer by moving the joystick more horizontally for the wavedash keeping in mind it must still be angled down.
This is the cornerstone of all advanced tech and should be learnt before attempting anything else. Often used for mindgames, for example:
Charging at your opponent, causing them to attack so you wavedash back (they have now been mindgames'd as they thought you'd keep running but you tricked them) and in the coming lag from their attack you wavedash forward and do what you will with them. But be quick.
