Wii Play any good? Worth a blind buy or Weekend Rental?

If need another controller than you might as well buy it, other than that it's not worth the purchase. All reviews pretty much agree with that.

Thanks - no controller needed here. Couldn't understand what all the hoopla was all about - Wii Play went crazy over at -Amazon

It's because everyone needed another controller and since they are hard to find in stores, Wii Play is the only way to get one.

Yes, many people have been waiting for WiiPlay before they got their 4th controller like myself. I think some problems will arise when other games start coming with Wiimotes as well like Wii Orchestra. I hope they have a version without the Wiimote for those of us that have it.
I think this game would be more of a rental for me.

As for the Wii Remote bonus, as people have said, its more of a Wii Remote, with a bonus game.
It's deffinetly more for the Wii-mote. Frankly Wii play is a good tech demo for the Wii and not an all out game. Still worth 10$ though!
this game sucked terribly....even with the wii remote it's not worth it
i just bought it today so now i have 3 complete sets of wii remotes. I hope this game is worth it.
I just bought this game over the weekend. Despite all it's anti-hype lately, I think it's actually a really enjoyable game. Still, I wouldn't pay $50 for *just* the game. It's definitely a great value though with the included Wiimote. Most of the games are actually fun to play, though in moderation.

I think the main point of developing this software was to give Wii owners a sort of training ground. It seems like each game was designed to help you hone a specific type of control method/motion of the Wiimote.

One thing I definitely want to praise about this game--actually, two things--is the tank game (very fun and very challenging in the later levels, especially fun with two players!), and also the billiards game. It has some very realistic physics and accuracy. Kudos to Nintendo for developing an excellent proof-of-concept, and for the great value pack!

I would recommend this game to every Wii owner, for it's casual game-play value and for the Wiimote. If you already have 4 Wiimotes, get this game anyway. You never know when a Wiimote might break (slim chance, but it's there), or you can always sell it!
Nice to hear some good feedback on the game!

No one ever really said the game sucked, just that most people wouldn't buy it if it were a stand alone game.

Well all the feedback on how the game like reviews never have many nice things to say.

I would buy it as a stand-alone game, but if the price was $50, I would wait for a used copy to turn up.

Yeah, if it didn't come with the Wiimote then I wouldn't pay the full price for it but if they sold it for say $10 then I would pick it up for sure.
Man they should make games like that being able to be bought in like a new section of the Wii shop channel. That would be cool. Big Grin

Wow, you named 5 out of the 9 games. 5 games that are quality games! Wii Sports only has 5 games in total so I'm starting to like it more and more. What's with our delay!!!
