It's been a long 2 months for those of you who have been waiting to get their hands on Wii Play and it's finally here. It looks like many of you were waiting for it and it has sold very well in the couple of days that it has been available. It's selling so well that it's already Amazon's number one selling product at the moment. Full story below.
Nintendo Co.'s new Wii Play for the Wii video game system is the No. 1 selling product at Amazon.com's Computer & Video Games division in its first week of release. The casual game title features nine mini-games that utilize the motion-sensitive Wii Remote, including table tennis, fishing, and laser hockey. The game is sold with a bonus Wii Remote, a factor likely encouraging strong performance at retail. Wii Play follows in the tradition of Wii Sports to lure casual players with low barrier to entry game titles. Wii has experienced robust sales at retail, selling 3.19 million units worldwide to date. Nintendo expects to reach 6 million shipped by fiscal Mar. 2007.
Wii Play a top-seller at Amazon - Punch Jump
Kudos, Big N Again! Thanks for the extra controller with a 10 dollar game. I've already rallied for 100 in ping pong (gold metal). I do like billiards, though. This hopefully inspires more sports and traditional games ie billiards, bowling, baseball, tennis, etc.
Of course it's selling well. It's because everyone wants another Wiimote which are still hard to find and for an extra $10 we get game. Everyone wins

Sweet, I bet with the new coloured Wii's, that this will come with it instead of Wii sports!

That would be a HUGE mistake. Wii Sports is ten times more in depth than Wii Play. Yes I do like wii play, but only 2 or 3 games out of all 9. It was fun for the first day, but I can't rouse myself to go play it for hours on end. I like the new wiimote though so thats a good plus!
Yea, I haven't played Wii Play, so I don't know.
But wasen't there a certain restiction date or whatever that ment Wii Sports would only come out with the Wii for a year or something?

Even if that is the case i would think Wii Sports would more than likey be replaced with Wii Music instead of Wii Play.
Dude i wish they came out with the Black Nintendo Wii's first !
I don't think that anyone cared about the reviews for this. The $10 game + a free Wiimote is really all that matters. Congrats to Nintendo for another hit. Didn't we already suspect it, though?
anyone know where i can get the game itself? everywhere i look they have the wii mote. i already have 4, i don't need another 1

Ebay or Gamestop/EB Games could have the game alone used. Other than that you wpn't be able to buy it alone.
Yeah, since the main selling point of this game is the wiimote.
wow i think thats a greeat offer comes with wiimote i need to buy myself one

its a pretty good game, would love a better full billiards game
I was gonna get one today but didn't feel like leaving the house just for that. I might pick it up tomorow.
Still waiting for this to get here. I'm heading to the shop tomorrow to find out about the delay and what's going on. I read a review of it over at Codename Revolution and much like other reviews they say almost the same thing in that only about three of the games are any good but they give props to the game Tanks! on it. After reading the review I really want to try that one out!
It's cool that it's doing so well. I'm only gonna get it when I need a new Wii-mote though.
hey mana...could you make youe sig a little bigger, i can barely make it out ;0
Lol, sorry about that. I'm attempting to make my own sig and don't really have a good program to do so. On my screen it doesn't look THAT big but I guess it depends on what your screen resolution is.
