Gunstar Heros is a run and gun video game released in 1993 for the Mega Drive/Genesis and the Sega Game Gear. In many aspects, Gunstar Heroes is considered innovative. It combined a linear, side-scrolling shooter with plot elements, a combo-based weapon system, a dice game, recurring bosses, and combat strategy. It remains one of the most popular games of the 16-bit console, but is it cool on the Wii?
STORY
The Gunstar family has been the protector of the planet Gunstar 9 (G-9) for generations. Professor White Gunstar, when he was a little dude, defeated Golden Silver, a destructive android that traveled millions of miles to take all of G-9's resources. Professor White was able to steal the four famous Mystical Gems which power the evil robot, and imprisoned the robot on one of G-9's moons. But years later, a new menace comes forth. Colonel Red, a vicious dictator (and a very bad dresser), found out that the Gunstars knew the location of the Mystical Gems. One day, the Colonel kidnapped the Gunstar twins' older brother, Green and used a mind control machine to make Green obey his orders. With Green's help, Colonel Red captured all four Mystical Gems, has turned Gunstar 9's peaceful worker droids into deadly menaces, and is now preparing to leave for Gunstar 9's moon to reactivate Golden Silver. Great old fashiond story line, for a great old fasion game.
GAMEPLAY
When one starts out, you can chose between free shot(Allows player to move while fireing) or Fixed shot (Must stop to fire, but one can fire in all 8 direcions). In adition, one can shose between diffrent gun types. Guns can also be picked up through out the game, but there is a max of two guns that one can carry. These gun types are as follows
MUSIC
The music is a great library of old, great sounding 16 bit songs. Most try to intensifie the game (and they do a pretty good job) and make it more fast past. The guns and explosions are good for what they were back then and still sound pretty nice today!

Its a great old game that has some great gameplay and fun multiplayer. The story is CLASIC, slightly chessey but its still a classic. One word. BUY! Its fun and you'll enjoy it!

- Force-Rappid fire
- Lightning-Narrow beam that cuts through enemys
- Fire-Fire balls that explode
- Chase-The bullets chase the enemys
