i love to theorize about the timeline, but sometimes i have to think that only *some* of the titles are linked, whereas *some* of them are just a retelling of the same legend.

for example,.. link to the past and twilight princess.. same basic premise. you have the normal world, and an alternate world turned to evil. in order to save his world, the hero must also save the alternate world.

sort of like a myth passed down by word of mouth that changes over time... some details are different.. sages instead of maidens, mirror fragments instead of crystals, but the general story arc is the same.

but at the same time i also like the gametrailers theory as well.

A whole in your theory of games' stories being retold is that the maidens are descendents of the six sages. Also, the mirror frags/ chrystals thing- it might be a possibility that, yes, the twilight realm and dark world are one and the same, but couldn't the mirror and chrystals just be two different means to reach said world.
