I know this is sorta late, but what kind of music are they, Rock, metal, alternative?
01-02-2008, 01:18 AM
Alternative/Rock is what I consider them.

If I like Knights of Cydonia, Supermassive Black Hole (sp?) and sorta like Starlight, what other songs will I like?
01-02-2008, 01:29 AM
If you like those, then you should like most of Origin Of Symmetry (album, not song. :p).
Though I'm not entirely sure -- Muse's songs are very flexible, and different in a lot of ways... Making it difficult to compare one song against another.
Though you can listen to all their stuffs (b-sides not included) at http://www.muse.mu to see what you like. :3

If you like Knights then a few of their songs might appeal to you. Though comparing a lot of their music to Supermassive Blackholes and Starlight is hard.
Maybe give Invincible a listen if you haven't already.

I kinda liked Invincible, started liking it more at the end when it got weird. I listened to Assassin, didn't like it much. Liked Apocolypse Please more than Starlight and Uno more than AP.
On to Bliss!
[edit]
After listening to a few more I have a top 10 of what I've listend to so far.
1. Knights of Cydonia
2. Uno
3. Butterflies And Hurricanes
4. Time is Running Out
5. Stockholm Syndrome
6. Sing for Absolution
7. New Born
8. Hysteria
9. Apocolypse Please
10. Supermassive Black Hole

Muse are coming to Fairfax in August to play at the Patriot Center, according to this list.
It's not too far from where I live, which is a bonus. d:
Though I'll be genuinely disappointed if I can't get a ticket or my parents decide that they don't want to take me to hear a band they don't like. (There's something wrong with their ears, I swear!
)
This is big news to me, since Muse hardly ever come to my area.
If it does indeed turn out for the worse, I'll need a few people to talk to for a few hours. XD

Speaking of the devil...
"Knights of Cydonia" takes the number one spot in Australia's annual "Hottest 100" countdown in which the Australian public vote for their favourite song. "Invincible" made it into the 50's.
Just shows how popular they are here, even beat the Foo Fighters who came sixth with "The Pretender"
But hey, Muse > Foo Fighters so who's surprised?
Interesting note: Last years "Hottest 100" featured "Supermassive Blackholes" at number three and the sensational "Starlight" at number six. Muse own Australia.

Didn't know if you guys knew, I've known for awhile but thought I'd post it here because this thread is too awesome to die.
Muse ftw. I'm buying this the day it is out.

Are Muse from Australia? Or have they just managed to become really big there?
Can't say I've listened to much of their music, but if they're from Australia I may have to give them a listen. You guys DID breed one of the best bands of all time in AC/DC
