So I was just watching some videos at IGN and I came across IGN's State of the Gaming Report where they talk to a bunch of developers about their games and what they think the industry is going to be like in a few years.

Interestingly enough, the person from Nintendo that accepted the Outstanding Achievement in Game Design for Wii Sports was questioned by IGN:

Interesting, the person said that they would have to kill the person from IGN if they told them that. Naturally IGN responded that they would take that risk. The guy then told them, and I quote from the video

This sorta official confirms the existence of Wii Sports 2.

I wish people would stop whining about boxing! It's great! And one of the few that takes a little effort out of all five games. The only complaint anyone ever has is that if you swing wildly, you'll win. Wrong. I've played people like that and usually knock them out in about half a dozen punches. I took one guy out with two combos and an uppercut.

I'm not "whinning" I am just saying that its glitchy. I hold the Wiimote and the Nuchuk in front of me how your supposed to and it goes all wild.

The controls aren't one to one that's the problem. They aren't as fine-tuned as they could be...

I forgive Wii Boxing's glitchiness because its essentially a tech demo. I'd hope actual boxing games were better built.

I hope the next wii sports gets all the games of the first one, and include to basketball, hockey, football..., and online!!!!! That would rock!!

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read this. I would love a Wii Sports 2 and I would love it even more if they included the originals with it with a few more options and online! Wii Sports + Online = perhaps the best selling game the world has ever seen. Ok, I know I'm hallucinating but it would still be so freakin awesome and bring a tear to my eye. I want to bowl with friends online so much! WiiLoaded Bowling Tourney!

it would rock if you could play 9v9 in baseball online, that would be sick

I only have one issue with this. If they make WiiSports 2 with 5 new sports and it goes online then what if I want to play tennis online? The first WiiSports games' would probably work better online anyway, since the producers chose those sports for a reason.

Perhaps WiiSports 2 will incorporate all the sports from WiiSports and more?

maybe. That would be awesome to have all the original games with online functionality.
