i messed up the choices for the poll was going to be yes,no, i may .. sorry

just wanted to see if any of you were lucky to grab a copy of the game at launch. Smile
After reading a few reviews I've decided that I will buy it, but after Wii Play. At the very least I'll rent it on Thursday since I've got a day off on Friday.
Well I have it pre-ordered, and I decided I will buy it after all. I pick it up tomorrow. I figure it will be the best game besides TP that I have for it, so I don't mind spending the money since my next game won't be until Mario Party.
Will it really be up to luck to get a copy?

Anyway, I'll rent it when its released here in a couple of weeks. Reviews don't sound promising but I'll give it a chance.
it's not at my local walmart's yet, and target says they won't have it till the 22nd.
I'll probably tell them COD 3 doesnt work, and ask for that game in return.
Or you could pay that little bit of money and rent Sonic...
I'm not sure where your returning or thinking to return COD3 too, but around here if you have a defective game, they'll let you exchange it for the same exact game... If you choose to venture down that path though....good luck and I hope it works.
Well I thought Cloud had only rented it.

your probably right about cloud renting the game, but from what you wrote above I thought you were giving him a clear alternative...

Well its just that if you've rented it and had it for awhile, wouldn't the place you rented it from be slightly suspicious that you're only bring it back now.
that wasn't what I was getting at, but it's all good.
man, the reviews make this game sound cruddy (IGN=6.9), but i think it looks good...

im not sure if i'll get it, but i'll definitely rent it when i can find it
I'm gonna get it. There's some games down the road that I want. Paper Mario, SSX, Mario Party perhaps so ya I be saving for long time. :XD:

I don't rent anymore now that Blockbuster's prices have gone around and over $15 (CDN) after taxes. That's already 1/4 of a new game.

Wow crazy prices.

For me to rent it overnight (which is all the time I'd need) it would cost me $6AU
It's all come after Blockbuster came in with "no late fees" (it's a lie btw). People are keeping their games and (to a lesser extent) their movies for longer than the due date (I usually keep a game for almost 3 weeks. I really want to get my money's worth) and some don't even return them at all. Eventhough there's the $1.75 late fee "restocking fee" I'll bet they were losing money at their old prices.
you're the reason stuff's never in stock and I haven't been able to rent Warioware Toungue. I always try to return crap on time or close to it, after all you should have decided by 5 days whether or not it's worth buying.
netflix need to get games

It may be getting cruddy reviews, but the game is a lot of fun. I picked it up last night and I'm loving it.

The controls are spot on. I read a few reviews that said they were hard and confusing, but they're actually good. There is about a 15-20 minute learning curve, but most of the tutorial levels are well done (save for one -- the jumping and targeting one). You hold the controller similiar to Excite Truck and tilt it left and right to move left and right. You can jump by pressing the 2 button and jump higher if you hold it longer. If you shake the remote while in the air, you dash forward or can attack enemies. All in all, the controls feel really good and I'm quite pleased with them so far.

The gameplay, or at least as far as I'm into it, is good. It's fast and there's a fair amount of challenge if you want to actually get everything. The levels are presented in episodes and for the way the game is setup, I like it. The game is actually pretty hard, but it's a good hard. You don't get frustrated because you have to play a level several times just to complete, you're actually having fun trying to figure out just when to jump or whatever.

They have a skill system and I'm not so sure about it yet. It seems decent so far. When you gain a level you get a new skill and some skill points. Each skill takes up so many skill points so you can't always use them all and it's fun to tweak Sonic like that.

The story is about as hammy as I would expect from a Sonic game. You get sucked into a 1001 Arabian Nights as an evil djinn is erasing everything. Nothing really special, nothing really interesting.

The graphics on the game are fine. I've definately seen better, but they just look really good. I haven't experienced any framerate problems yet, but I can definately understand why they would happen. As you're rushing through these levels, there's a fair amount of stuff going on. Like I said, so far, no problems but can see it happening. The levels themselves look really good.

The music is awesome. You hear God aweful stupid rock music as the end of the level that doesn't seem to fit but does (if that makes sense) and I giggle every time I finish a level and hear the music.

All in all, I'm digging this game. There seems to be quite a bit of content and lots of extras so there seems to be plenty to do. The core gameplay is a lot of fun and it's just an all around good game. I wouldn't say run out and buy the game right now, but it is definately worth a try if you think you're in need of a new game.
