I was surfing some wii web sites and came acrouse a site that clamed that the everybody votes channel is a sneaky Netcode test to see how the online
is working...Heres the article

Yesterday, we discussed the significance of the Everybody Votes Channel, and made some conjecture about how it relates to the future of the Wii online. We've discovered another theory we think is worth sharing, from a post made in one of our own comments threads last week! Our readers are so smart; we, of course, take full credit.

Reader Cole thinks that the Everybody Votes Channel is a sneaky way to test netcode for online play, getting players to interact with the system in a simple manner. It sounds plausible to us, and certainly goes a long way in explaining why a poll channel appeared out of nowhere.

Sounds kinda goofy to me! Wat do you guys think?
Actually I was thinking about this. I was wondering if the everybody votes channel is a sort of test to see how online will do. If so then I think it'll do well. Big Grin
I really think the Votes channel is one of the funnest and most thought out things to do on the wii! It uses the miis and it works great! The only problem is that i think that it would be better if there were a little more interaction bettween people... I bet this is only the first wave of test! Bring on the Chat channel!!
Yeah, I agree with the more interaction. I think that they should perhaps let you see how people in your buddy list voted or have a way to allow others to see your results.
i hope if they choose your question they give you some points or something but i doubt it
I have not even sent them any questions simply because my questions would be too one-sided like "Would you like to see an update to the Mii Channel?", which of course would get nearly 100%. Coming up with other questions and they would more or likely be sent by someone already. Who knows though, let's see if anyone reports getting anything for having their question picked.

I'm not sure about the topic but it is very possible. It's also possible they they are using the questions sent in as a way to get feedback and to see what people seem interested in the most or what they keep asking about. Think about when you go to McDonalds and you see the suggestion boxes that you either a) never fill out or b) say something like "yeah, close down so Burger King can open here". Could be Nintendo's sneaky idea of a suggestion box.
I wouldn't care if the Votes channel was to test and see if now was the time for satan to take over the earth...so long as it helps Nintendo in the gaming online arena Smile

Well said my friend!

Yeah, if we can help them to make more stuff that we want then it's a Win-Win situation. They'll get a lot of money for the game that we want to buy or the service we want to use.
