February 26, 2007 - Despite sparse details, we knew that EA would be bringing MySims, the first game in the popular series designed specifically for the Wii and Nintendo DS, at some point this year. Today, EA opted to finally reveal some more substantial details regarding the upcoming title.

MySims is an entirely new experience which transforms the traditional Sims gameplay to take advantage of the capabilities of the Wii and DS while still delivering the creativity, customization, and open-endedness that has been the main draw of the series. Players can customize their own Sim to reflect their personal style and attitudes. The game contains a wide collection of unlockable clothing, hairstyles, and accessories.

Gameplay takes place in a disorganized town that can be reshaped according to the will of the player. Using a palette of building blocks, patterns, and creation tools, players can design furniture, appliances, and even homes and businesses. Players will have to interact with a large cast of secondary characters as they reshape the world to their liking. Every completed task, no matter how miniscule, will help the town expand. As it grows to incorporate new areas, players will receive special design elements to help customize the digital urban jungle.

"We want MySims to provide a creative play experience like never before on a video game system," said executive producer Tim LeTourneau. "By giving players the tools to create literally any kind of world they want in MySims, we're reinforcing the idea that the players create the magic. Will the town support a plethora of spooky, mysterious townsfolk - or buzz with the laughter and smiles of fun-loving Sims? It's your call! In MySims, what players make... makes all the difference!"

MySims will see nationwide release for both the Wii and Nintendo DS this coming fall.

Sounds interesting but I'm still hoping EA Games makes Sims 3 for the Wii when that eventually comes out.
This looks a kinda cool, but I'm still a little skeptical about this game. I never really liked the Sims.
I rather enjoy the sims, but I'm hoping something like this will translate into downloadable content for our Mii's.
I actually like the Sims games, and as a big fan of anime I love the style of this spin-off. The super-deformed body shape is something I've grown to love in games like this, thanks mostly to Animal Crossing. I also like the idea of how the town and it's residents will reflect your own personal style (hopefully not in a way that's too overbearing though).

My wife is a Sims addict, so we'll definitely be getting this game when it comes out. Personally, I'm more interested in Animal Crossing Wii.
Meh, I probably won't get it. I don't really like the sims and there's too many good games coming out.
If they find a way to incorporate your Mii's into the game, it might add enough of a familiar tone, that many more people would play the game.
I don't think I'd play it since I can't stand any of the Sims games. This looks like a cutesy version of it. Animal Crossing will be out this year I believe with online as well so perhaps I'll wait for that.
the sims bores me but this looks like a welcome surprise theres also a new trailer

I never did understand the Sim games... my cousin likes them and I don't see why people are drawn to them.
i think it's the whole "God Complex" thing...people want to be able to control others, and being able to control an entire family/town is entertaining. not much into it myself anymore, but i used to be. when it all started to get repetitive as the days went on, i tried to do things that would destroy the people..."you need to go to the bathroom? baah! just hold it! *deletes toilet* stop whining! WHAT?!?!! you peed on the floor! ooh, that's it. now you're on my black list. yep. imma kill you off. now im not giving you stairs to the bathroom at all. and imma leave the music on 24/7 and not let you turn it off."

i wonder though...would I still be able to torment the people like that in MySims? and someone said this before, but it'd be awesome if we could import our Miis into the game.
Ah, I see. I thought Sims was just a "make something and watch it" game.
That looks very animal crossing-y
ive seen quite a lot about this the uk ninendo magazine got the world exclusive so if you wanna know anything just ask Big Grin i also wrote an article for my other site on it

I kinda get that feeling from the SimCity game i had once, but...in the Sims you could create everything and just sit back and watch how things unfold if you wanted to, or you could take control of what your people did, their professions, their love interests, who they talked to...

Chris - any interesting stuff in the article? more info would be awesome ^^

sitting back and letting things just happen in the Sims doesn't work. you have to maintain their world, otherwise they live in filth, don't eat, and die Wink
well you build every item in your house from scratch using a design system, you play pranks on other villagers, you find treasure by digging like in animal crossing and also a metal detector can be used, it should be online.
you find gold in the ground and make one of a kind furniture
also ther is a rumour you can upload music on a sd card into the jukebox
the music thing would be really cool, and I'd love to see a community where as all my "wii friends" could have houses I could visit.
Do you think this might be the game where Nintendo introduces a wireless keyboard to use so we can talk to one another on the game?
Meh I'd get Animal Crossing before I got this. They pretty much lok the same now.
