Namco Bandai Games revealed to IGN Wii on Tuesday that is planning to bring Space Station Tycoon, the latest in its series of Tycoon simulation titles, to Nintendo's new console. The game is developed by Wahoo Studios, whose last project was the well-received Outpost Kaloki X for Xbox Live Arcade, and Space Station Tycoon shares much in common with its predecessor. Players use the Wii remote to manage galactic space stations, all the while increasing their income. The game comes to life with a unique storyline that revolves around witty banter and humorous plot progression. Space Station Tycoon is set for a summer 2007 release on Wii.

I won't lie and say I've heard of this game or am excited about it coming to the Wii. I'm not normally a person who likes any kind of sim or Tycoon games except for the old Roller Coaster one and the appeal of that only lasted for a day or two. Maybe some other people might be interested in it though. Curious to see what everyone else thinks about it. I want to say the more the merrier but that's not always the case. I'll wait and see.

The biggest question that's crossing my mind about this game, is how in-depth would the construction be? Do you just connect pre-formed objects together, or can you construct buildings/structures of your own design more like Legos? One thing I didn't like about most Tycoon games is the fact that you didn't have much control over what you build. Which is one reason I'm really interested in the Sims game coming out where you can apparently design your own objects.
I'm not sure how deep it will actually be, but I hope that the cartoony characters don't translate into a kiddy game. I think building things like solar panels in space and also space stations could be really cool.
the screens look pretty cool IMO, but i usually dont like sims / tycoon games

but the wii sims game looks really good

so i dont know...

Woah...freaky man.

Yeah it could be, if they do it right. If it only allows you to build specific things from specific blueprints, then it could get old pretty quick. If it let's you come up with your own designs, this could be a really good game. Though, probably not something I would buy.

I didn't even know that there was a Sims game announced for the Wii.
What is with all these Tycoon Games? It never seems like they succeed so why make more of them?

Quote:
While it’s a little disappointing there is no straight-up freeplay mode, there are some scenarios that allow you to build to your heart’s content without a time limit. There is a co-op mode, so you and a friend with another remote can work together towards building Utopia or constantly foil each other’s plans by spending all the money on unstable powerstations. With the game’s decidedly cartoon-like style, Space Station Tycoon has the showings of a whacky, comedic building sim. We’ll see how the gameplay stands up as we near the game’s Fall release.

This game still looks quite interesting! It wouldn't hurt to give it a try when its finally released.
Somehow this looks much more interesting as a wii game. Actually it looks pretty cool. But I wouldn't pay more than 30 bucks for it.
I've thought this game was interesting since the first screen shots, but I'm really afraid at how it will play using the Wii-mote. This looks like one of those games that would work great with a mouse and keyboard, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Well the Wiimote could act as the mouse part. But most Tycoon game have been meh, but this one looks like it can actually be fun.
