Now before anyone decides to flame me like Sony PS3 fanboys, or closet fanboys that might be confused and on this Wii site, I didn't make this statement above. Sony Corporation Entertainment Australia boss Michael Ephraim was asked about the high price of the PS3 compared to the Wii and responded by saying "We think PS3 is not a product to be compared with Wii, it is a completely different product. This is a digital hub, that is a games console".
Hmm, now I don't know about you guys but I bought my Wii because I wanted to PLAY GAMES. Who honestly ever bought any system with the mindset that I don't want to use this to play games with? If a game system can do more things then great but if it's not centered around gaming then why waste the time of buying it to start with. Would any of you have bought a Wii if they put the gaming aspect last or not at the front? I know I wouldn't have and they didn't and that's why I'm proud to say I'm a Wii owner. I'm proud to say that I love playing games.
The article goes on to talk about the price when it launches in Australia. The price in Australian dollars will be $999! If you look at current rates between the U.S. dollar and the Australian Dollar then the price of the PS3 should cost around $750 AUD. This is a higher price than the U.S. price and the European price. When asked why the price would be higher in Australia he mentioned that it was because of Australia's smaller population, higher costs of running a business and higher taxes.

I feel for ya man. I had to pay 18,500 baht for mine when it came out, which at that time came out to be around $470 U.S. Now the price has dropped but not much. The current price for the Wii here is around $400 U.S.

O well anyways I think that's a pretty stupid move. You buy game consoles to PLAY GAMES. Not to use it for other things!
what the hell? a digital hub? why is it even competing against microsoft and Nintendo in the console war if its not a gaming console? stupid sony really screwed up this time. no way will it win the console war. price is way to high. im not goin to pay 1000 bucks for a digital hub. my Wii is better than it anyway.
Another dumb Sony comment. It's not even surprising anymore. When they say something good, intelligent, or even funny, is when I'll be amused but comments like this are just diggin' the ol' grave.
remember when your digital hub was actually your "computer". It's best if Sony tries to stop being all things to all people, and just focus on what their good at.

I was wondering if there were any completely Sony first party games for anything? Exactly... All they're good at is making money.
If they play games, video-games, and hook up to a TV, no matter how many other features they have, they're still a game console!
