If you havn't noticed Nintendo has been keeping much to itself since Wii's launch letting the competition step forward and get some press. With the Game Developers Conference coming up in a couple days I'll bet many of you were hoping to maybe get some info regarding Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros., new Wii features and channels, and other things.
But now it seems that Nintedo is going to remain tight lipped at the conferense with the exception of Shigeru Miyamoto being a keynote speaker. It might be a little disapointing but it's not a surprise coming from Nintendo. I think we all remember the drought we experienced in the time from E3 2006 and the revelation of Wii's launch.
However while Nintendo won't be speaking of up and coming projects the developers are still free to speak of past projects. The Game Developers Conference runs from March 5th to the 9th in San Francisco. Shigeru Miyamoto will speak on Thursday, March 8th from 10:30 - 11:30 AM PST.
Nintendo to divulge no new info at GDC - QJ.net
Yeah, I saw this and felt kinda sad about it. I believe the GDC will take place this Monday. I was really looking forward to some great news coming out of the Nintendo camp regarding some of their triple A titles as well as any other surprises that they may have up their sleeve. The current situation with Nintendo's stock is mostly responsible for Nintendo being so cautious on what they talk about right now. They will mention things that are "concrete" or a sure-thing, just not anything that might not come to be. We'll know more after Monday.
That sucks I was hoping to get some information out od GDC. O well hey life goes on.

I'll be in San Fransisco on the 9th, so I think I'll punch a Nintendo rep if there are any left at the convention.
lol that gave me such a funny idea for a comic.
Ricky: "Excuse me" *taps exec on shoulder*
Nentendo Rep: "Yes?" *turns around*
Long silence
NR: "uhhh did you want..."*cut off in the middle of speech.
*Ricky smacks NR across the face* *SMACK!*
R: "Nice meeting you." *Ricky walks away*
God that would be funny.

Ha! If I get enough guts, and my glass balls are restored I just might do it.

I've punched random people before. <_<

But I was working on a comic! :O D:
WHY MUST NINTENDO TEMPT US SO?!?!?!
:O
Wanna work on mine?
Comics are fun! I could make some in my spare time I suppose.
Darn. I was hoping for news on MP3, SMG and SSBB. Oh well, it won't kill me to wait a few more months for info. (what am I saying?)
just cuz we get info doesnt mean the game will come faster!!!
its no big deal!
Thats bs Nintendo.
Stop being so secretive.
Oh, man, this sucks eggs, oh well, well see what happens later this year.
Precisely.
Nintendo has momentum, why not give the public some more info to keep the interest as high as it is. If Microsoft and Sony have strong showings then they could gain momentum.
I don't really understand what exactly is meant by the "major stock trade" that article is referring to. Does that mean they are making more stock available to be traded? I guess that would make some sense in the context.. if that's something that's possible...? Guess that's why I'm not a banker.
Can anyone clarify? Any clue when this "major stock trade" may happen?
I would think they are at least going to show some new screens for upcoming games, especially if they're not going to reveal release dates.
Perhaps another Smash character or something?
There's something in business called trade secrets which give you an advantage over your competition. I don't blame Nintendo at all for not wanting to say much at all at GdC with the way Sony is.
It may drive all you kiddos crazy, but chances are it's in their best interest to keep quiet.
its tuesday, have they said anything at all?

Well yeah, i understand that.. but I'm just wondering about them forseeing a major stock trade happening, when they are already a publicly available company...?
Does this mean more stock is becoming available..?
Or is it just that they have some tricks up their sleve they don't want to unveil yet.
Whatever. Guess we just have to be patient and wait
