I thought the acting was quite good. I have heard this argument from others, but I though everyone was quite compelling. I did see a number of mistakes though. Closeups on some soldiers left shoulders showed that they had polio shots probably sometime in the 1960's or early 70's.
300 has to be the best action movie so far.

i saw it in imax it was the greatets movie ive seen all yeah. and im happy to say it lived up to my expectations. cant wait for the dvd
While the movie kicked major butt, I found it a tad slow at times and not really groundbreaking. Good stuff though, a tad too hyped.
I have to say I was really scared going into see this movie tonight because I heard so many great things about it and I hoped that it didn't build it up to something in my mind that it couldn't achieve and well, it was better than I expected even after hearing praise for it. For me it is the best movie of this kind that I have ever seen period. I enjoyed the fight scenes so much. Nowadays in most fight scenes they are too zoomed in and the action is so fast that you don't even know what's going on. The fight scenes in this movie were not too close or too far away and the slowdowns when attacking made it so much more awesome. I could see each blow and I loved it and am now in love with this movie. I'll be getting the DVD for sure and will probably go to see it again before it leaves the theaters.
I think the DVD is gonna be so great, because hopefully the extras or directors commentary will explain to me what some of those creatures actually were

I believe it was emphasizing the vastness of the Persian empire by what strange and unique creatures are within it's borders. Just a theory.
Also served as a nice reminder that this movie really has no merit on historical accounts other than a few minor details.
