i thought the movie was great. the visuals, the mythical representation of the battles and the story revolving around the battle. I cant imagine ne1 saying this movie sucked. there is just no reason for it.
I've heard a couple people that have complaints, but to be honest these are the type of individuals who'd complain if God descended and didn't bring then dinner.

Hopefully we'll see many more Frank Miller movies similar to this. Rumor has it that the next Batman movie might be more along the lines of Frank Miller's Dark Knight series....I doubt it, but I'm sure a darker story would be welcomed.
indeed.... i would like to see that.
Imagine a Batman that was just rough and tough and a recluse who didn't care about Gotham City's social life or stuff. Just a kick butt avenger.
THIS MOVIE RULES. I LOVES IT!!!!!

Man it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT! i have to admit there was a lot of graphics but it just made the movie even better...the story was great, the visuals were great, and the fighting scenes were AMAZING...i dont know what else you can for from this movie...it had it all....THIIIIISSSS ISSSSS SPPPPAAAAARRRTTTTAAAA!!!!!!
I finally saw it, and I can honestly tell you that I feel it was overhyped and overrated. It was good, but definitly not the best movie I've ever seen. With all the hype around it I was expecting it to be a masterpiece. Some friends of mine have been talking about since 2 months before it's release. The action scenes and acting were good but the dialog was a little cheesy and even predictable.
This movie is far from the best movie ever but I do think that the action scenes of this type were the best I've ever seen. They were really well done, not that in your face so fast that you can't even tell what's going on kind of stuff that goes on nowadays. Acting was o.k. I saw this for the fighting and would see it again for the same reason.
One word: Overhyped.

But it was a solid effort.

Sin City rapes it though.

If no one has seen this, then they ought to. Something good has come of 300 after all!
I know that this isn't the best movie ever but I loved it! Frankly I don't care if people thought it was 'overhyped' or what not. The movie was great.

I do beleive that the fighting scenes were some of the best fighting scenes ever done in a movie.
I liked the movie, but it felt too short.
Ya, I agree with you on the length of it Cloud but I think it was one of the best movies I have ever seen.
Apparently VGCats.com has done a little spin-off of 300, and you should take a look. It's pretty good.

Clicky!
300 = overhyped.

Give me Sin City or the ACTUAL story of the Spartans any day.
As stated.

Its an action movie, if you like action then you'll like this film. But even then I still didn't think it was as good as some people talked it up to be.

I'm sorry, but I take a lot of offense to that. if someone doesn't share your opinion, deal with it in a nice manner. don't condone them because they think that a movie wasn't as great of a success as you thought it was. EVERY movie has people who like and dislike it. if you can name one movie that EVERYONE has said was superb and loved it, then do so and i'll apologize. but everyone has individual tastes, and they wont always align with yours.

i was not a huge fan of this movie. like other people have been saying, it was completely overhyped. don't get me wrong, because i love action, i love blood and guts...but it really wasn't what i was expecting, and i walked away asking why everyone loved it so much.

The action scenes were terrifically done, but took up too much spotlight in my opinion. There were things thrown in there that really weren't necessary, like the useless elephants. I laughed at a bunch of scenes (not just the action ones), because I couldn't see the point in them in terms of the overall story. I could understand why they would be put in there, to help move the story along, but the scenes themselves i was disgusted with. they could have done a much better job with these scenes without some of the aspects they threw in there.

Historically, the Spartans ignored the Athenians when they asked for help to combat the King when he tried to take Greece (without warning, btw). he believed that if he could take down Athens, he could conquer Greece. it was the Athenians that fought them off single-handedly, and not only were the soldiers the ones that fought, but they also sent their villagers and townspeople in armor to scare the Persians when they tried to attack from a different route and the soldiers couldn't get there in time. They were NOT as weak as the movie portrayed, and for that i was also disappointed. but had i not known that, as many people probably didn't, then i think i might have have gotten a little more joy out of the movie. but to ruin history like that, im sorry...

Thank you LZ. Rep for you.

This movie suffered the same fate as Troy and Alexander.
Personnally. I went into it knowing it WAS NOT a historical adaptation. It's a comic book movie. :l

Great points though LZ. Reps for you.
I watched the movie over again on DVD, and I kinda wanted it too finish quickly =\
