Whether you knew it or not Charmander, alex51011 and I have been hard at work creating a webcomic. So far we have 6 solid comics written up and one that could be completly illustrated sometime this week. There is one comic however that will never see the light of day. It has to do with Sony's rumble issue and it's turncoat approach. It won't be illustrated because by the time we get it done it's already old news and there are other ones we can focus on. It's a shame too because this was probably the best among my earlier works. Oh well. I'll just get to making even better ones. Enjoy.
What's Old is New Again - Originally planned to be comic #2
"Shortly after E3 2006"
Two Sony reps are talking after E3.
Sony rep: "That was a great showing. Everyone loved how original the SIXAXIS control was."
Sony rep 2: "Yeah, speaking of which there's a problem. If we put rumble into it we're bound to get slapped with a lawsuit,
but we can't let everyone know it's a lawsuit."
Sony rep: "So then how do we justify taking it out?"
-----------------------
Sony rep 2 is dictating a press release with another person at a keyboard typing it out. Sign in the background says
"Motto: Send press release first, confirm information later."
Sony rep 2: "We're sorry to announce that force feedback will be removed from the SIXAXIS because it's tremendous force
would interfere with motion control."
Sony rep 2: "Our numerous play testers have confirmed that motion control and force feedback cannot coexist."
-----------------------
Now in the PS3 testing and debuging room where testers are playing a 360 and moving the controller around while playing.
Tester: "Why am I not turning? The controller's rumbling but I can't move. The rumble must be throwing it off."
-----------------------
"Several months later..."
Sony rep 2 is now being interviewed.
Sony rep 2: "I really feel rumble is a last-gen feature and has no place within any video game system. There is no original
innovation in rumble, but there is in motion control."
-----------------------
"Few days later..."
Sony rep 2 is once again being interviewed.
Sony rep 2: "We're proud to announce that Sony is looking to insert rumble back into it's products and the innovative
technology it offers."
Sony rep 2: "No, why would I say rumble is last gen? It's obviously something that's here to stay."
-----------------------
Sony rep and Sony rep 2 are now back stage talking.
Sony rep 2: "There that should get people talking about PS3."
Sony rep: "But that doesn't change the fact that the controller still lacks rumble."
Sony rep 2: "Are you sure about that?"
-----------------------
We now see a SIXAXIS controller with the following on it:
"NEW AND IMPROVED WITH REVOLUTIONARY RUMBLE!"
"Simply shake the controller vigurously and feel the vibrations."
In smaller text: "This will in no way affect motion sensing controls."
