ould Nintendo have been developing their own PlayStation Home-esque virtual world using the Wii's Miis, but Sony beat them to the punch during Phil Harrison's keynote yesterday? Maybe, as C&VG asked Nintendo (we're assuming the European branch) what they made of the Home announcement, and their response was hardly neutral:
"This is an example of Sony's "Mii-too" approach. But as Mr. Miyamoto states, Nintendo years ago considered and rejected the type of approach Sony is now taking. Miis have become a cultural phenomenon in their own right, appealing well beyond the traditional core gamer audience, and the process of populating them across the Wii universe is just beginning."
This comes from a Nintendo spokesperson, however, and not one of the company's high-profile executives. Expect more comments from them as GDC interviews pour out. Will the sentiment be as bitterly worded? We'll have to wait and see, but one has to imagine the idea of a world for Miis to roam around in must have crossed Nintendo's mind.

It actually looks like sims.
It does look like they ripped off the Sims more than anything, but i agree it's Sony "Mii-too" approach-_-
I'm not sure what video or pics you guys have seen, but I think it looks much more realistic then the Sims and such.
I've seen it - and yes, it does look more realistic, I agree. But you can't help thinking they've ripped it off from the idea of the sims and mii, using it in a console.
Home is a completely awesome idea, I mean I always like the whole mii idea for the wii, excepet you can't go online, meet people, talk to them and interact with them (mii parade doesn't count lol)... jesus god I dont know what else to think tho, did sony really think of this before nintendo, does it even matter?, Did sony steal this from nintendo (like so many other ideas)?, Does it even matter that people "borrow" ideas from others?..........

Sony is mixing Sims and Miis to create w/e they're doing, what they're doing is cool IMO, but they did steel ideas IMO.
Sadly, this'll stomp Mii's flat, but it is cool.
But Miis are in many more homes than Sony's version. I'm sure whatever Nintendo has planned for Miis will put "Home" to shame... (hoping)

but sony needs to really think of ideas ON THEIR OWN, stop copying everything on the face of this earth, copy something on the face of Uranus or something...
I highly doubt that Home is going to take off and blow the Mii's away. Mii's just hang out. Personally if I wanted to play the Sims or 2nd Life, I'd play the Sims or 2nd life. Not hop on a console and run around and have a sausage party in a virtual room.
I think this will give fuel to Sony fanboys to say that once again Nintendo is a "kiddie" system with their cartoons and we have more mature looking "avatars". I do think that Sony's Home looks very nice and I like the idea. I also love the Miis and hope to see some kind of interaction with them as well. Each one is different and I'm ok with that. Miis are like caricatures of ourselves and more family friendly. I don't see grandmas, grandpas, mothers, or fathers, making and using an avatar for Sony Home.
I like miis but sony they just want to keep on trying. they like to copy things. but that's just sonys nature. nintendo rocks! sony sucks! I used to like sony until they staarted dissing nintendo all the time call the wii a toy!
