Though much of Shigeru Miyamoto's GDC keynote has been hushed and without shocking announcements (so far -- maybe there will be a last minute bomb), but Nintendo's main man did confirm Super Mario Galaxy will arrive on Wii before the end of the year.
Miyamoto then demonstrated new footage from the game and debuted an updated logo. We'll have more on the footage later, but a brief, random description:
"Space island as Yoshi egg, volcanoes, green hills, vines connecting rocks, crawlers, looks super smooth, domes, fireballs, apples, giant worms connecting different apple levels...lots of spherical objects as levels, lava stage, bullet bills, thwomps, underwater levels, pirahna plants, some traditional "flat" looking stages."

I think it's gonna be a very different Mario, and might even be considered as revolutionary as Mario 64

Would like Smash and Metroid news MUCH more though.
I know what your saying lemon, but I don't expect a lot of NEW stuff to be done with SSBB or Metroid. I look forward to both of them, and will be having alex51011 send me his copies when he's beaten them, but I think Mario Galaxy with be a very different game then we've seen before, and the new direction and concept has really got me excited.
Truth be told, I'd rather see the Wii Orchestra/Wii Music game come out soon
Online SMG would be cool, this is a cool game, but I want PBR, SSBB and Metroid the most.
I'll be getting it for sure. It's almost not possible to get any kind of Nintendo machine and not own a Mario game. I still want SSBB even more than SMG but getting it nonetheless and the new screens look awesome!

That was when Miyamoto said the game would release 6 months after launch which would be by the end of April, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. And actually, Reggie did say in an interview back in November that the game would release between March and December 07. So I guess you're right but people just weren't paying attention.
