Electronic Arts and famed director Steven Spielberg (E.T., War of the Worlds) announced a collaborative effort to produce three Spielberg-born videogames over the next few years, and while we've yet to see the fruits of the creative bond, EA Los Angeles VP and GM Neil Young revealed to GameDaily.Biz that one of the games is currently in development on Wii.
"The first one, what I can tell you is what you'd expect, sort of, from a Steven Spielberg production. Steven's stories are intimate stories that take place around huge, world-changing events... sort of, big stories shown through the eyes of a small group. Doug Church is producing it...
The second project is something Lou Castle is producing, one of the great producers in this industry, and that's one of the products we're building for the Wii. Very exciting and interesting..."
Neil mentions that Spielberg's in the office for several hours each week to toss advice and oversee progress, so this appears something more than just slapping the director's name on an off-the-cuff idea he tossed to one of EA's development studios over a conference call.
going to be interesting to see how the games turn out

Here is a full interview, its pretty interesting (also long read)

nice find. sounds interesting. especially since its Steven Spielberg...

Sounds cool, good find.
Whoa, and the link has a pic of Speilberg v Miyamoto..?
Epic.
Rep to you sir.
it was at E3 last year if i remember right... lol
LOL. i luv it. he's really gettin' into it too

lol love the pic.
I remember I read that Spielberg was doing something with a game for the Wii in NP a long time ago.

For the love of God and all that is Holy, Nooooooooooo. I had that game and it still haunts me to this day. That game actually won worst game of the decade or something like that before. I can't believe I bought it, played it, and then played it some more. Maybe I just like pain...
Back on topic. I can't wait to see what Mr. Spielberg will come up with. I hope he takes his time and gets it right though. He is very creative and can come up with a great story, but watching and playing are two different things. A game with good video clips is nice but I want the gameplay to be nice too. Yes, I'm greedy like that.
Yay, my old mate Steven is making a game for the wii!!!! Don't get the wrong impression, I don't actually know him, but I'm a film director, he's a film director, his birthday is the 18th of December, mine is the 18th of December...subliminal
lol
Frankly I had read that he had been working on Medal of Honor in the NP magazine.
So I wouldn't be surprised if we here about him working on EA's Medal of Honor series.
I'll go find the snipit.
Ok I found it, it's kinda vage and was when we were getting Airborne instead of Vanguard but thats not whats impotant in the snipit.
Credit Saving Private Ryan, a film that has one of the most explosively dramatic openings of all time, for inspiring the Medal of Honor developers to always start the series' games with a really big bang. The next installment of EA's Steven Spielberg-blessed FPS series begins with a free fall over enemy territory during which you, Private Boyd Travers of the 82nd Airborne Division, determine how you'll approach the enemy forces.
I didn't write it all there since some of it doesn't matter but it looks like it's still going to be the Medal of Honor games that Spielberg is going to be working on.

I think he just produced that series. He got it started soon after Private Ryan.
Since the games coming out next month, I think it would have been mentioned that that was the one. This new project is an entirely different animal, from what i understand.

and Indiana Jones would be george lucas
nevermind im a noob that would be both of them i fail
most overrated director... ever.
this is great stuff

really brought my hopes up

I will wait for the games. As long as a crazed zombie Tom Cruise doesn't pop up, everything will be right in the universe.
