No, Online makes a lot of replay value.
Characters do as well, especially completing the single player modes with each character.
To do that in Melee, (depends how good you are) It took me about 6 hours, because I was a N00B back then.
Brawl should take about 10 hours. I would say, then the rest, getting better, then Online.
I think that the most replay i got was trying to master all the charchters...

ive gotten really good with samus, doc mario, mario, y. link, marth and am now working on getting good with fox and falco
I cant spend enough time to master all the characters, because I hate the slow ones, and the ones that are mostly for Long Ranged attacks.
i only focus on (IMO) good characters
bad characters = everyone i havent gotten good with
