this is actually a concept from greenfrogthing77. everything from the idea, layout and stickying the thread. thx man
here's how it goes down. every week i choose a new game to be the SPOTLIGHT game of the week. once the game is picked, a thread will be created to include a professional review, screen shots, video and a review from one of our own members if available. this will be more helpful with new releases in the future, but to get the ball rolling i think we'll start off with something most everyone's had experience with. likely Twilight Princess, Redsteel or Wii Sports.
THIS thread is not the spotlight thread. this is merely a thread for people to post some responses to the idea and offer some advice/input on the idea. if it kicks off, we'll likely get it going in other boards (though PS3 obviously is going on it already thanks to gft77) and possibly have it as something the site will be widely known for.
so, now open for questions, comments and such
Sounds good, I am up for it.
Sounds cool to me, but i don't think you should use a launch title. You should use games that recently came out. everyone already knows how great TP is...
It's a good idea. I actually think you should use TP first just to see how it goes and make it the sort of test one.

my point exactly. alex is on the same page with me
would you guys prefer a different title? i just like the launch game or so to give you an idea of how it'll work out down the road
Well, unless you can think of a current or upcoming Wii game worthy of a week's worth of focus.
not really. highlighting some previous titles will give us practice untill the good stuff comes out
Sounds good to me! I also think that TP would be a good game to test the SPOTLIGHT out and see how people like it!
Sweet, nice idea, but I really think you should start out with SSX Blur.
You need to test it out first though. Then work your way to the newer ones.
Don't review Zelda, everybody has it, its got like, 1,000,000 reviews all over the internet, do, like, Raymen, or maybe Excite Truck if you wanna do one.
how about a rating system...have a couple members judge it on certain aspects (i.e. graphics, controls, storyline, and overall fun) and give it a solid rating for other members to go on

We call those Reviews.
We call those Reviews.
HAHAHAHAHA!! That made me laugh!

I'm just saying it as it is.
Well, i thought it was funny! Thats just me in my own, crazy little world!
O it was more then funny. It was quote worthy. In fact I'm off to the Quotable Quotes thread.
Thats so good in fact, that i reped you!!
This could work and I felt shocked when I first saw this. I have something up my sleeve for the OT forum that will be coming this Sunday (if you haven't read my sig yet to know) and it's good to see the forums becoming more active. I like where all of this is headed!
I agree with Kasaioni that TP has been reviewed up the wazoo, that highlighting the game doesn't really seem to be giving it a spotlight. to me, spotlighting a game means finding a game that's not the most popular game, and giving it some time for fame.
I'm thinking Sonic, SSX Blur...any newer title will probly help to get the ball rolling better than a launch title, simply because that's what will be happening in the future - new game, new spotlight. unless you plan on running spotlights on the older games each time, i feel like just starting as you would later is the best bet for a successful start.
