Sorry if this has been asked before.
When my Wii is connected to Wiiconnect 24 and is on standby it gets really hot. Is this normal and/or safe for my Wii?
Mine doesn't get really hot but it is a bit warm on one side. If your's is really (almost burning) hot try calling Nintendo.
This (i think) is standard for a wii....My wii gets a little warm too. Just make sure its in a open area and not in a cramped area. Also, make sure the air vents are not blocked.
Mine gets warm. But then I turn it off for 5 minutes and it cools off real quick.
It will get warm but it will get a bit hotter if you haven't played your Wii for a while because the fan isn't in. Even though it should still not damage your Wii. If you are going to be away for a long period of time like on a vacation or something then I see no harm in unplugging it.
treat it like you computer. if it's so hot that you think it'll damage something, turn it off for a bit. i personally have my Wii on standby all the time and i've never noticed it too warm, just kinda, but that's also after playing it a bit, so could just be the usual heat from playing it
Mine gets a bit warm on one side, but that's about it. I'd say it's normal.
Mine gets sorta hot, but not too hot. If it's burning, like Kindrik said, suggest you call the Big N.
It's probbably normal and it is next to a cabinet thing so thats probbably trapping a bit of the heat in, it's not too too hot...I was just a little concerned, it gets hot on the side that would be the bottom if it was sitting flat...is that the side everyone elses gets hot on?
it gets warm but not really hot. if it does get really hot, make sure your wii cooling fan is working. other than that, it's pretty safe. why would nintendo make a feature that's unsafe for your system?
