A few weeks ago, speculation about a forthcoming PSP version of God of War crept across the Internet. The speculation heightened and was practically confirmed by a teaser for an unannounced PSP title on Ready At Dawn's website that use to feature the classic God of War font. Today, we finally have official confirmation in our hands.
On the back of the instruction manual for God of War II there's a not-so-conspicuous teaser sheet for a PSP title in the franchise. It credits its development to, you guessed it, Ready At Dawn Studios, and simply says "Coming 2007".

As much as I love God of War, Sony really has to reconsider their strategy when it comes to the PSP. Its become quite obvious that people aren't really interested in playing a console game on a handheld, as evidenced by the struggling sales of PSP and huge numbers by the DS. Come up with something more original guys. GoW is a dialogue and story-driven franchise that doesn't belong on a portable (unless of course this is a completely different type of game, in which case I take everything I just said back).
I agree that the PSP just isn't selling and it's partly do to that dang UMD stuff. I wonder though, if God of War on the PSP might give the system a second life. I can't imagine Sony would allow any company to do a shotty job, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I love God Of war too, but this game on the PSP will do what POP did, didnt sell well. Whenever the game is put onto the PSP It always turns out, crappy. IMO.

It did, but that doesnt make a game BIGGER than another game.
When it comes to how Sony will treat it, and what kind of "polish" it has on the PSP, then yes it is a bigger game.
And since we haven't seen 3 or 4 God of War games in a row, like Prince of Persia, we can at least hope and probably be guaranteed that more time will be spent on it.
Why develop for PSP when the PS3 desperately needs some good games and good press. Announcing GoW 3 for PS3 would be huge, especially with GoW 2 releasing now.

More than likely, but at the same time (say it was back in March of last year that they began the project) they knew about the PS3 and could've easily chose to make a PS3 game instead.
I think you forget that if this game is done really really well, it might draw people to the PSP. I still hear people talk about how they'd get a PSP if....even after they know it's quite crappy because the UMD and the other issues it has.
I guess you're right. Like I said in the other thread, it just like what TP could've done for GC if it was released when planned.
