Hmm. I think they will probably stick to UMD format, or go to a different kind of "Disc" format. I just can't think of Sony using a cartridge type game.
I agree with Twilight. The DS is for gaming as the PSP is for media.

The only thing that'll save them is some good *Handheld* games.
Like Cypher said, Handheld games are supposed to be time killers. What I look for is a game that I can save at anytime so I could quickly go do what I'm supposed to do, when I'm supposed to do it, "Now". That's another reason I like the DS, even if I cant save right at that moment, I can shut the screen, and its as good as pausing, and putting the DS on hibernate.
For example, FF3 for the DS. Normally this wouldn't be a good example of a handheld game, but thanks to the "Quick save" function, I can save at almost anytime, the only time I can't save is when I'm in a battle, and those don't take long. So I can quit the game when ever I want, and do what I need to do.

What the PSP needs is some way out there games. Liek Pheniox(sp?) Wright, Brain Age, and the like.
Before, All I had a GameBoy for was Pokemon, and Zelda. I thought Gameboy would die, from such a weak grasp, but hey, Pokemon was the ****.
But now thanks to these new titles, I'm interested in Brain Age, Magnetica, and all those other strange/fun games.

The PSP should get in on the new generation, some people actually want to learn by handhelds. Just look at how popular Brain Age is! What really got me was the fact that PSP is a gaming handheld, but it focuses more on other media.
Strange... I wonder if that has anything to do with weak sales?

The PSP is a good media device, but if you want gaming, hold your breath, FF7 will come eventually. Toungue

Oh ya, UMD, I'm pretty sure they'll drop it for something better.. hopefully not expensive better...
