The PSP is about to turn two. So what does it have to show for it? More than you might think. The PSP gets a bad wrap for several reasons. First, it's a lot more expensive than the moderately priced DS, so it's hardly in the vicinity of an impulse buy. But more importantly, the early-on development trend was to simply port or create console-like experiences on the PSP, which has led to lackluster sales and little originality.
But developers are beginning to buck the trend, creating games that are actually suited for handheld play. Sega's upcoming 2D/3D hybrid Crush is a great example, but it's not the first game to do something unique on the PSP. Here's our list of the 10 best PSP games that you must have if you do own the handheld. And if you don't, it's a great start to building an awesome library. It's a great time to get onboard, and let's hope the PSP blows right past the terrible twos!
The Top Ten Games Are:

The PSP Is about to get a couple FF's thats my only reason to get one. I dont really care for their top 10 games.
I sold both of my PSPs that I had and enjoyed many of the games from the list but I agree with you on the FF part. I would really like to play them.
There is no doubt that a couple FF games will breath some life into the PSP
I will not spend that much money on a PSP, just to get a couple games that I really want, thats why I will buy it off my friend (:
And I'm about to turn 28! The PSP was released on my birthday

Personally, the best time to buy one was when it came out... then it would be easy to hack the firmware to allow for homebrew... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, code.
Anyways, sony keeps losing money for the PSP with every firmware version destroyed 1 month later by ingenious coders.
now if you excuse me, i'm going to play some SMB3 on my PSP... it looks sooo wrong but it feels so right!
Playing Nintendo roms on a PSP shows just how rubbish it is.
People have to play Nintendo roms instead of Sony's "quality" library of titles.
Lolzorz.
the system is not bad, the games are
Why go through the trouble of trying to find the killer app of the PSP when all you need are some quality NES, SNES, Sega, and Homebrew games. the games are bad so there is no reson to upgrade and you have almost an endless library of games on the PSP with a few ingenious tweeks.
I don't advocate Illegal rom possession though, make sure you have the original cartrage b4 you play.
Wow, the PSP is about to turn two? I suppose I have to congratulate Sony for holding on so long with this thing. Why don't they release a new one to try and combat the DS' popularity?
but its already 'terrible'

I believe Sony can make the PSP a good system if they just rethink some of their past mistakes. We all know Sony has some good franchises they could put on the little portable bugger....
They have Final Fantasy (not theirs) and Metal Gear Solid (not theirs)
Name me one 1st party sony franchise or 1 exclucive 3rd party franchise sony still has.
And you wonder why there realy isn't a killer app for the handheld.
if the Castlevania game coming out has an update, i'm going to confir with the homebrew scene to find out if the latest version is cracked.
also, i would recomend MM Maveric Hunter X. but that's only one game out of the PSP library
Also would recommend Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

I think up until just recently Sony has been so big on porting PS2 games to the PSP that it's been rediculous. Once some original games kind of like LOCO ROCO come out, I think it will do better.
When I saw Loco Roco I was amazed.
That game would be oh so much more fun with motion sensitivity, turning the handheld instead of using buttons, that would be so awsome.
It's been rumored that it will come out for the PS3, but sadly I doubt if we'll ever see it for the Wii

Also, MGS: Portable Ops is the best PSP game.
Maybe, I've never played it, but most people I know that have a PSP love LOCO ROCO
