i'm usually not a fan of these sorts of games, so i was quite surprised about how long i played the demo the other day. i'd say it's kind of like SimCity meets Zoo Tycoon meets Animal Crossing. for a kiddie game, this game is pretty deep. with a kid's attention span, i dont know if they would be able to handle all the reading and research that's required to meet certain criterias within the game. towards the end of my play-through, which i had to quit because i was missing an nba game, there was so much activity and multi-tasking involved that even i was overwhelmed. it's a really good game. if you can look beyond the kiddy graphics[the graphics, lighting, and ambient sounds are impressive nonetheless] there's also a very adult subtext that little kids will be oblivious to, but their parents or adult players will pick up on. kinda funny actually. i'd definitely pick this one up if i didnt already have a backlog of games in my inventory.

check out this clip from ign titled "Insanity". it pretty much captured what i experienced... but in a smaller scale.Toungue

Yeah, I remember reading about this. It was really a sleeper hit and came out of nowhere. I've never had the chance to try it but I've always wondered about it. Now after reading your posts I definitely want to try it. Toungue
the demo is really long. i played it for over 2 hours and it just didnt seem to end.
A demo that's longer than 2 hours? That's over half of an entire game of the original God of War. My friend beat it in just a little over 4 hours or something like that (God of War, not Pinata).
yeh, it's really long. i also believed it worked out for Rare to make it 'almost' never ending. if the person plays the demo for over 2 hours, then there's no doubt that Rare's hooked them and they'll eventually buy this title. i really want to pick this one up, but i still have a lot of games to complete first... and Oblivion's expansion, the Shivering Isles, just came out yesterday! aaaaaaagh!Willy
The demo is taking me forever to download.
it is more addicting than fun. I mean I played the demo it was neat for awhile trying to get the pinatas to become residents in my garden but then it just felt like a chore after awhile.
