Nice find, just read the article. He kinda says it as a compliment to Nintendo while at the same time saying that they're not the competition. He didn't even mention Microsoft at all.

Sony used to supply the chips for the NES/SNES(i forget which one). They ended that partnership when had a disagreement on where the company's next step should be, giving birth to the Playstation.
actually, it was the CD drive perheperal that nintendo wanted to go into competition with sega cd. the codename for that system was, you guesed it, Playstation. In the end, Nintendo chose Philips instead, PS1 came out, thereby dominating 2 generations of video gaming, and Philips made a stand alone system that has games nintendo wishes wouldn't see the light

I remember the infamous betrayal by Nintendo towards Sony.
hmm not sure if that was Nintendo's fault or Sony wanting too much for the Nintendo Playstation add on for the Super Nintendo....we'll probably never know the real story though...
