the article doesnt mention the PS3, but im sure it's gonna be released on there too. i mean, the other 5 were on Sony's consoles, right?
my friend is a huge ace combat nut. he's gonna go apeshart when i tell him about this.
i also heard that Katamari Damacy will be multi-platform. i'll try and dig up some concrete info.
edit: it's currently a rumor, and maybe an april fool's joke, but i dont recall the last time a developer has joked about their game being on other consoles.

Xbox Live support will also play a big part in the game -- not surprising, considering how great the online play in Ridge Racer 6 turned out. We can look forward to online battle royal and team battle. Or, if everyone is feeling friendly, a cooperative play option lets all human players group together to take on a powerful enemy force. We don't have specifics just yet on how many players the game will support simultaneously.
Bandai Namco is also including a ranking mode, and even has plans for downloads. The downloads will actually be kicking off well before the game's release. On Friday, the marketplace will take delivery of themes and icons, which we'd suggest you download immediately to show off your excitement of more "6" games coming to the Xbox 360.
Ace Combat 6 hits the Japanese Xbox 360 later this year. There's no word in Famitsu on a PS3 version, so for now, we're going to assume this is a 360 exclusive.
I will be first in line in W. Michigan. Please oh please. Can anyone say online co-op? I hate screaming for it it now but I will. This is one of my favorite series from PS2. Hopefully, if it's true, 24 player melee air combat here we come.
interesting piece of info i just heard over at another forum... someone went into gamestop to preorder forza 2, and the guy asked him if he wanted to preorder ace combat 6 too. (something that strikes me odd about this is that the game isnt scheduled out until winter 07) anyway, the guy said that this game would also be available with a flight stick which would bump the price of this combo to about $150. that's a crap ton to drop on this game, but im sure hardcore fans wouldnt mind paying that much to get the full experience. /rumor.
Just some more info from

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation takes air combat warfare to new heights as it boasts the new "Dynamic Operation System" where massive battles unfold on a "living battlefield," as up to six independent land, sea or air conflicts can break out at any time at multiple locations as allies and enemies clash in real-time. Players can experience the realism of war when battlefields come alive with engagingly authentic audio and visual effects: thundering explosions, dense vapor trails of air to air missiles, piercing machine gun fire, booming anti-aircraft artillery fire, mid-air explosions, gigantic columns of black smoke and more.
Prove your supremacy on a global scale as you pilot highly detailed, authentic aircraft online via Xbox Live. For an all out worldwide battle for the sky, players can choose from a variety of different online modes including the death match and team death match style game modes. Or they can team up with friends to play in co-op, where players combine strategy and skill to work together to take on computer-controlled adversaries.

This is definitely a must have now so I hope it lives up to the hype. I am just glad more titles are moving over to 360. It doesn't make me feel as bad for spending the money. I think this is going to be a massive success online and extremely fun to play.
This would be a great game to have online and I'll be picking it up for sure if I get the 360. I've always liked having dogfights in 2 player split screen mode but online would be so much better. Co-op would be so awesome as well!
