I really kind of doubt, but don't have any information to back that up. Maybe we'll just have to wait till the first online games come out?

If Nintendo continues on the right path of their Online situation, then we will see them. And maybe we just need friend codes to play with our friends in smaller servers? we can only hope for the best...

Well. (My guess is that) considering that Gamespy is doing the online again (like they did for DS online play), it might be a lot like the DS online where you have an anonymous random match-up (like in MP: Hunters) for games that aren't friend-to-friend strictly (like in AC:WW).
I sure hope not though...

Just because gamespy did the DS wifi dosent mean the wii's going to be the same style. for one the DS has 4mb of ram and other limiting features about it. the games them selfs didnt have the best online setup maybe due to its hardware. Gamespy has been handling pc games for longer than consoles have been apart of online gaming. So im keeping my hopes up for some game lobbies and better friends matching. Also I dont know if any of you noticed but MPhunters was horrid at matchings skill lvls now it does quite well. for a random public battles the DS system works quite nice. who needs some 12 year olds talking smack during the game or after in some lobby just fight and on to the next fight or leave and let it find you another match.
I think their main focus needs to make it like old Heat.net/gamespy though. people need to be able to create games/servers better and be able to set passwords or make public/w friends ect. and allow selection of servers.

Again we don't know anything for sure. Everything is speculation right now. I'd love to see some kind of lobby perhaps with our Mii as the avatar to meet, chat, and set up games with friends but we'll have to play the waiting game.

That would be cool Mana. I just hope that theu actually have a "Start Game" opinion if you have to wait for random peoples for a long time.

Yeah, maybe like online PC games where you click a button when you're ready and when everyone is ready the person who initiated clicks start. If someone is wasting time then u boot them out.

Kinda like how StarCraft runs on BattleNet?

like the ps3 home. that would be awsome if they made it lime that

Gamespy also did PS2's online, and it was alright. Like it had a lobby with a list of servers you could choose from (in most games at least)

Didn't know that........
