Sorry, I don't mean to put this here for bashing the PS3 or anything related to that, It's just that it's been announced for the PC and Xbox 360, so I don't have to put it in both sections.
Anyways...yes you heard it right... Devil May Cry 4 is no longer a PS3 exclusive and will be released on the xbox 360 and PC as well! The xbox 360 and PS3 version will be released at the same time (no info on the PC version release date yet)
...sigh, I am just speechless lol, another PS3 "exclusive" gone down the drain. Hmm now to wait for the Metal Gear Solid 4 announcement.
Official story:
here
i'm expecting it. Capcom's an awesome company and all, but they're a major sell out when it comes to "exclusive" titles. RE4, Viewtiful Joe, Mega Man. sadly, most of Capcom's multiplatform releases end up hurting Nintendo by either releasing a Nintendo exclusive to another system, or leaving Nintendo out of the included platforms
MGS4 will be a timed exclusive.
It won't go multiplatform at launch. It'll go mutliplatform in like a year or two, when everyone has stopped caring about it.
except 360 owners...
i don't see Capcom (or many companies) in a hurry to port titles to Nintendo systems. how bout Virtua Fighter on Wii? or the rest of the DMC series? GTA? and how bout keeping RE Nintendo exclusive like intended?
wtf?
Well I am just glad to hear it will be on both the 360 and PC (which I have both), and I will now be able to play it, without having to get a PS3, which I haven't planned on getting, at least not yet.

Well, for one thing, developers usually don't want to downplay the graphics in their bigger titles. Seeing as Capcom is wholly embracing the HD experience (as seen in Dead Rising and Lost Planet), I can see why they don't want a shabbier version ported to the Wii.
Besides, the Wii titles are almost all going to be exclusive to it, due to how the controller works.

actually I read somewhere that it would be multiplatform at launch. if I can find the source I'll add it to this.

well I for one am glad to hear this. Yes I'm a ps3-hater and I'm glad to see them lose exclusives. It just shows Sony that you can't charge whatever the f*** you want for a game console and expect to win.
plus I'll be able to play it at my friend's house

*shakes fist at Capcom*

'Booooo' for ports anyway. I think all 3 platforms would fare better if they acquired more exclusives. And I think Nintendo currently has the best odds at that, seeing as (like wiiproblems said) most developers won't dumb down the graphics on a 360/PS3 game to port it to Wii, so (hopefully) more developers will create original titles exclusive to the Wii.
EDIT: To add to that, I would rather NOT see games ported to Wii from any other system, simply due to the fact that not many developers will spend enough time on working out the controls for a Wii port and the controls will end up flaky at best in most cases.
GFT, get a real source about MGS4... I've seen plenty of fake ones constantly proved wrong by Konami and Kojima.

I'm fairly certain he meant DMC4, not Metal Gear Solid 4.

I didn't start the thread, so I don't know what you mean by "real source"...I think someone drank some bad milk before bed

It think becomes I think

Don't think anyone said anything about MGS4 except for opinions.
Yay, a PC game
I don't know, ports could be good. If, and only if, the developers work out the nacks and controls.
I would like to see more multiplatform games.
Means less consoles to buy.

I like exclusives, makes certain consoles worth buying. And thus keeps those consoles in business.
Thats my point, less consoles, less consoles to buy, less money to spend, to get the games you want.
Less competition and lets say it came down to one console, that console would have complete control of the market, nothing to push it further, no competition. It would suck.
Imagine a gaming world with say just Sony. Look like a bright future to you? With just Microsoft things would be just as dull and with just Nintendo we'd never advance anywhere besides how we play the games.
There is also the other half of the coin. What if you have a game that's been very popular in the past, and you create some mediocre product because you know people will buy it...Devil May Cry 2 is an excellent example.
New Devil May Cry 4 info from PSM
PSM's latest issue was chalk full of details on Capcom's newest installment in their staple action franchise Devil May Cry. Here are some of the most interesting tidbits.
* 60 fps framerate will be supported in DMC4
* Environments will be destructible for the first time in the DMC series
* New characters will be unlocked upon completion of the game (Sparda anyone?)
* Expect a more cinematic camera - hopefully this won't hinder the gameplay
* The same graphics engine used in Dead Rising will be used for the visuals of DMC4
* Dante and Nero's style are completely different
* Dante's four styles from DMC3 (Gunslinger, Swordmaster, Royal Guard, and Trickster) will be making a return
* Confirmed moves for DMC4: Charge Shot (for the guns), Exceed (build an EX-gauge for extra power), High Roller (air juggle), Streak (strong forward thrust), Buster (no idea), and Hell Bound (grappling, non-combat)

Lame.

Monopolies are illegal.
