I've never even heard of this game or I don't recognize the name maybe. They're making a big deal about it coming and how it's gonna be such a huge hit. Any of you guys ever played it?

Arcade classic Gyruss to blow Xbox Live Arcade streak

Gyruss is listed on Konami's website as a March 2007 Xbox Live Arcade release. We're sure that a cursory, even perfunctory, glance at your word-of-the-day desk calendar will remind you that there's only one more Wednesday in store for March, leaving little room for interpretation here.

Just when we were getting used to this -- Alien Hominid HD, followed by Worms, followed by Konami's coin-op classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (with co-op multiplayer!), and then today's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night -- Gyruss comes along and spoils our fun. Maybe they want to pile all the Konami offerings in a row, or maybe they didn't want us to get too used to the streak of desirable titles; either way Gyruss is launching us back to the dark times of back to back releases of Root Beer Tapper and Paperboy.

who's making a big deal about it?

i think people are getting tired of these arcade classics.
Over at the site I got it from. They are acting as though people will go crazy over this game and they wonder why so man "great" games are coming all at once for Xbox Live Arcade now.
Well, the article you posted doesn't seem to be that positive, but the comments on it are.

Really though, I never cared for those kinds of games.
Both you and greaser lee are right. I misread the article. They are actually saying that lately Xbox Live Arcades has been getting great games such as Castlevania and were on a streak until this game came out and ruined the streak of great games. I've never even heard of it though but it is funny how so many people were saying great things about it. Maybe they misread too and tried to act as though they played the game before... lmao!
lol. i remember playing the arcade game at a pizza place way back when and i didnt like it.

i like shmups, but old school shmups just dont age well.
