seeing the interest of MBX's weekly puzzle, i am going to start off a Cipher thread, the goal is to De-Cipher coded msgs based on diferent Ciphers around the world.  this first one is going to be hard but first person to post the right answer wins.

throuought this test, i will be droping clues as to how the cipher works, it might be 1337, a1z26, it might be moris code.  but i tell you right now that this first code has nothing to do with the codes stated previous so pay attention to the hints

First clue is this, this code has 25 spaces, but the alphabet has 26 numbers

second clue: C and K exist where C does, after J comes L

Third Clue: With the exception of C/K the letters are alphabetical I.E. A, B, C/K, D
The answer is

that last hint was too much i guess, anyways, corect answer

Time to figure out another code for next week
Actually, I didn't notice you added the 3rd hint until after I figured it out. The 2nd hint was what cleared it up for me. I'm a puzzle freak normally and like this sorta stuff but rarely have time for it anymore.
dang, the 2nd hint? i thought it was still a lil criptic

Anyways the code i used was a variation of what prisoners used in POW camps in Vietnam based on hitting something to a metal pipe
heh, I made a code once where you:

1. take a sentence
2. convert it to morse
3. order the morse code from . to ---*
4. use the index to convert it back into reverse alphabetical (1=z, 2=y, etc)
5. Use book code** with a copy of fellowship of the ring (everyone has a copy lying around somewhere) with a key*** which you put as the first number in the code.

it's all very long winded, but pretty secure and even better, to an unsuspecting eye it looks like a list of IP addresses
If you guys like this kind of stuff, you should really read the book Digital Fortress
of course that's only the base code.

I devised ways of including the ISBN number so you can use any book, and made every 'letter' (including the key and punctuation) look like an IP address.

and then after that you could convert each letter into hexdecimal >_<

Turn Punctuation in four octet numbers by putting (letter addition key)-(if letter addition key is not part 4 use part 4, if not use part three of the key) at the front and using (the first part of the key that isn't the letter addition or the key position) to tell you which part of the number to put the punctuation code in. the other unused ones are random numbers under 255

heh, I was sharing it with people. and yes, It's ridiculously secure. but the fact is it's so damn time consuming I never really use it. besides, It's a lot easier to say
