I came across this article and thought it was an awesome and worthy story to share with everyone here:

"Last weekend I was out shopping and I thought I would visit my friend Hiro over at Famicom Dojo. I always enjoy visiting there. We talked for a while about the Wii and DS Lite sale,s and I brought up the fact that it is amazing that they are still sold out all over. Hiro looked at me and said this was nothing new for Nintendo. He told me a short but interesting story about the early days of console gaming. And if you click below, I will share it with you too."

pretty cool
Very interesting story.
It just goes to kind of show how impatient people have become since then...I say this based on media outlets and others who complain about Wii shortages...
The first Nintendo got way more popular than was expected (and much more mainstream than any system before it), and this was during a downtime for video games as a whole (which Nintendo is credited for reversing). I can assure you that no matter how popular the Wii gets, it will not be hard to find in 3 years.
I definitely agree. Even with the huge success the Nintendo Wii is having now we're talking 3 years from now. I've heard stories about people not being able to find a certain DS in their area but that's only in certain places. You can pick any color/style that is available for the DS, Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, and PS3 and I can find you one where I'm at in less than an hour. As for the Wii I could probably find it but it would be much harder and a lot more pricier.
That's a cool story. I never knew Famicons were so insanely popular. It makes the Wii sell-outs look like nothing. That store sounds cool though, I'd love to visit it.
good find, realy put's into perspective how nintendo saved video gaming
