But why? The only reason Pikachu followed you around in Yellow was because he hated his Pokeball.
No pokemon really truly likes its pokeball
lol. maybe bringing back this idea wouldnt work after all, imagine walking around with a Wailord
A Wailord would die without water.
exactly my point, i now see why they didnt revive it
i'm about to lock this thread. convo keeps going to general Pokemon instead of what it's supposed to be, and all the realistic ideas seemed to have been spoken for. speak now if you have a good reason to keep this going
why who lock it, its on topic.
The 3rd game usually has a legendary pokemon on top, so I think one of the Legendary Pokemon in the game, will be the main Pokemon in the 3rd.
For the third game of D/P it will be hard to know what pokemon will be on the box cover because basically there are always three main legendaries(along with others that are just as special, but are used for various other reasons) , the first two on the two original games and then the third on the third version...considering that there are 15 new legendaries it will be hard to figure out what will be on the box cover for the 3rd edition...
Example:Groudon, Kyogre----Rayquaza
(ruby) (Saphire) (Emerald)
Example: Lugia, Ho-Ho----Suicune
(Silver) (Gold) (crystal)
Because Raikou, would be yellow-ish
Entei would be Ruby or Red ish
And Suicine..I dont know how they thought of Crystal, but it worked perfectly.

its obviously Girantia or Darkrai.
don't overlook the possibility of another yellow type game. they could pull something way outta left field. i think it's more certain to keep with the title theme (color, gem) than the pokemon. Pikachu for yellow came up just because of the show. maybe D/P's 3rd game will come out with a pokemon from the show that becomes a huge hit with the audience
But again you won't know what it will be. If it werent for the anime, pikachu would be just as special as poliwag or ratatta.
I doubt it, ratatta was horrible, and Pikachu was just special by its looks too, and so was Raichu.
well yes, but you get the point.
its obviously Girantia or Darkrai.
It will be Girantia on the cover because it's part dragon like Dialga and Palkia. Plus Darkrai is a legendary that you could only get at an event.

It can be manaphy though because of the movie, or maybe even Lucario. What you're is saying does make sense but is not necessarily true. Just think of G/S/C Lugia, Ho-Ho and Suicune had no types in common. (flying aside)They usually base the 3rd version cover on a Pokemon that is seen in a PKMN movie or a PKMN anime.
It will be Giratina because they usually legendary Pokémon that already in the previous versions. Manaphy wouldn't count. And Lucario is not a legendary Pokémon.
Pikachu was just special by its looks too, and so was Raichu.
actually, the reason they used Pikachu in the anime is because they wanted a Pokemon that was easily obtained and wouldn't evolve, that way the audience would get attached to Pikachu and it wouldn't change. could've just as easily used Jigs, but then its singing thing wouldn't be as well used
Pikachu isn't easily obtainable, and its SO rude, At the beginning, shocking Ash and stuff.

Games after the origials it's very easy, especially in FR/LG where it's at the begining.
