I know, looking at the title you are obviously going to think of some stupid april fools joke, but there is a feasible reason behind it.
GameStop's COO Dan DeMatteo posited that since Nintendo has met their sales goal for this fiscal year, they're putting off the next shipment until the next year starts, which is April 1st. DeMatteo expects to see Wii supplies pick up right about then.

and one from Walmart
For those of you who have yet to find a Wii, we have potentially good news! Or a totally mean waste of your time. We don't really know.
Tipster Memnoch tells us he saw a handwritten sign in a Wal-Mart electronics department in Fairfax, VA telling employees to hold Wii shipments for April 1st, when a new advertising circular would announce their availability.
Our readers have yet to lead us astray with these shipment tips, but we aren't 100% sure about it. It's not that we don't trust Memnoch-- it would just be foolish to take a rumor involving April 1st at face value. Hence the more skeptical, pensive Matthew Lesko. Good luck if you check this out!

April 1st will be on a sunday, so this may be a day that big shipments are coming to stores. Or it could be a lame joke. Best call your local retailer
Very good find wenis, you should be a reporter.
I just saw this a few minutes ago, and was about to post it -_-
Nice find, Wenis.
I could care less about the Wii part. I've already got my Wii.
If it were a Wiimote, however, I may be interested...
Nice find although I already have a Wii.

Lol, I get RSS feeds on my google homepage

I think wiimotes and nunchucks might be included in this shipment... because it says supplies. but im not sure
hmm all my stores have tons of wii-motes, nunchucks, classic controllers, and point cards
The walmart in my city had two Wii remotes and that was it. and some 3rd party junk as well. This was on sunday, and the pathetic thing is that was the first time i've ever seen a wiimote in real life. I was suprised how small it is...
Anyways, im really looking forward to this shipment... hopefully i can grab a wii then. if its true.
yeah, all my stores are full of Wii supplies as well...the console, on the other hand...not so much
Perfect opportunity. Please don't be a joke. v.v

You STILL don't have a Wii? Wow, good luck on this.
Ive been searching since Christmas, no luck at all. The manager at the EB Games here said they have only been getting small shipments of like 3-5 per week...
wouldn't suprise me a bit. my best bet is that nintendo has over 4.5 million wiis sitting around and on april 1st nintendo will come out with this statement that says they are having trouble with production and they will not ship any more wiis until '08, then by the next morning all of our sales trackers will show wii higher than the 360 by nearly a million

now that's an april fools joke i like
April fools Microsoft, i guess wii have sold more systems than you have
that would make my day/ week/ month/ spring

Some unfortunate news
George Harrison, Nintendo's senior vice president of marketing, apparently didn't appreciate the accusation from Gamestop COO Dan DeMatteo that Nintendo was strategically waiting until the start of the new fiscal year to ship out more Wiis. He countered with something that seems a lot less corporate cloak-and-dagger, and a lot more common sense: Nintendo is, in fact, selling a whole lot of Wiis in three regions, and that is why there's a perceived shortage.
Harrison went on to speculate that DeMatteo's comments were an attempt to get some of the Wii supply diverted to Gamestop. You'd think he would have learned a lesson about such speculating from the very thing he's responding to, but perhaps we're expecting too much.

Well, at least it wasn't an April fools joke. Just a bad speculation
Well this could be good or bad news for those Wii-less people out there.
I pitty you Wii-less people.......
i still like my idea better.
damn you george harrison for killing my dreams:>_<:
Well all this means is that they aren't positive on getting a shipment on THAT day, they might get one a couple days later, or hopefully before.
