Items are there to give inexperienced players advantages over those who don't need them. if they want to play with the big boys, they gotta learn to play LIKE the big boys.

Ok, you're my third partner now. I feel special I like how the same people won't be partnering all the time because it adds variety.

I will more then likely be very far down the list but we will see...
Its been said before on items. They subtract away from skill. Anyone can win with items if they lucky and get something like a Hammer or something. So its better to test players based on skill, not luck.
But I repeat, there will be items tournaments for fun.

No its pretty easy to be bad with Link.
The key to Link's gameplay is range. As long as he can keep his opponents away from him successfully then he should do okay. His smash attacks are only good when you know they'll hit, if they miss he has nasty lag and will be punished for that.
My Roy is a certified Link killer, so I know how to tackle them.
Okay, since people seem intent on joining I'll compile a list of people involved.
For the sake of future tournament brackets, upon agreeing to enter you will have to work out a time that works and if you miss that time then you will have forfeited your match and your opponent wins.
Sounds like a good organized rule, that way we can make sure we play. How about also a break rule cuz it is annoying when people have to do something in the middle of a battle but is also understanding that you may have to answer the phone or whatever.
A break rule will probably be accepted, it goes the same for SSBM matches. Pauses are not acceptable unless its something important.
Also, people who have already expressed interest please post the characters you use *best*
Well since you want us to post our best character for me although it is an odd character im pretty good with Zelda but as SSBB somes out ill probably be Pit, Metaknight or some other new character.
For now just post up the SSBM characters you use best. We'll update when Brawl is released.
