How do some of the 1UP Network editors feel about the new 360?

After taking a look at Microsoft's Elite 360 -- details here -- some of the 1UP Network editors chimed in with their thoughts on the high end Xbox 360 SKU.

"I guess it's good to know that boning early adopters isn't just for Sony and Nintendo anymore. Although, really, are Elite's new features THAT big a deal? Cosmetic changes, meh. HDMI, ok, but it takes an awfully discerning eye to spot the difference between HDMI and component on anything besides a super high-end TV. And the bigger hard drive is sold separately (albeit with a $100 penalty for us non-tard-pack-owners). It's good news for fence-sitters, maybe, but even then it's kinda frittering away the console's price advantage over PS3." Jeremy Parish, Features Editor, 1UP.com

"No built-in HD-DVD? No built-in Wi-Fi? This new Xbox 360 SKU hardly seems 'Elite' to me. I'm all for a higher-end model, but the lack of those key features makes this one feel half-baked. And actually, this announcement serves as just another reminder that the PlayStation 3 -- at least in terms of hardware -- still offers more." -- Bryan Intihar, Previews Editor, Electronic Gaming Monthly

"I'm not even slightly interested in getting one of these for myself, seeing as how I'm part of the 98% of the TV install base that can't handle 1080p (I made that statistic up but I bet it's pretty close), and I haven't gone nuts with the XBL downloads so I don't need a huge hard drive yet. Actually, this kind of just reopens the wound -- I really think that Microsoft's decision to not include a harddrive standard with all versions is a huge mistake that it'll come to regret. And this new version is so close to the PS3's price, it really underlines how similar the systems are in terms of what you get, with some minor trade-offs here and there. I wish MS had gone all out and put an HD-DVD drive in this thing, though. Looks like the format wars (for those who care) are limping in Blu-ray's favor, and bundling an HD-DVD player with the 360 might've been the biggest help to the cause. Also: Seeing as how Microsoft wants to push microtransactions so hard, it's time to make Xbox Live free." -- Demian Linn, Managing Producer, Gamevideos

Now it's time for Microsoft to B.O.H.I.C.A. it's fan base like sony did and what nintendo might do when it comes to DVD.

If you really want to know what the accronim means, look it up on google... it's wrong but funny at the same time
I think the elite is a very cool system, but I would have liked to have seen built in WIFI.
