Well, today your Mii may only cross the Plaza a few times and stop to chat with Walter about bowling and Vietnam, but tomorrow, the sky may be the limit. Shigeru Miyamoto, in a recent interview after GDC, indicated that Nintendo may well craft their own Home-like system, a la the coming PS3 interface. But it's not a matter of copying from Sony; Miyamoto made a great point when he said that the idea of Miis is certainly not new. He referenced other examples of avatars over the years, and also said that he hopes more developers work along these lines.
For Nintendo's future, Miyamoto indicated that they may move in a Sims-type direction, which sounds an awful lot like 'Mii Crossing' to us. But some of the most interesting parts of the interview come when Miyamoto compares the Mii creation experience to game development. Making Miis, he says, is almost like putting the player into the developer's position, and that's something he would like to expand in the future. We're pretty sure we could get behind that as well.

PS Home is Sony idea interacting within a virtual world with homes and games. Think The Sims because that's what it kinda resembles expect th people look more realistic.

what if they basically make the Mii community a huge expansion of Animal Crossing for a low download price from the shopping channel? put your VC games into little consoles in your house. send mail by going to the mail box. click on a car or train to travel to a friend's town/house. that'd be cool

Im all up for it cause i have t oo admit the ps's home is so freaking neat! And a wii one would be great.
I hope they do this, it's a great idea and in my opinion and I stress that it is only MY opinion, the PS home is one of the only good thing the PS3 has going for it in my eyes. (Not trying to start anything)

I'm sure Nintendo has planned this for a while, but everyone (including myself) have been very quick to jump on Sony for copying other companies...Nintendo's is basically saying.."we're not copying because avatars have been around for a long time". I would have liked to see Nintendo basically say that the new Mii community idea will be unique to Nintendo, and whomever wants to see comparisons between PS home and the Mii community can do so, but they'd be wrong.
I think Nintendo was a little weak on defending the Mii differences from Sony's PS home.
i liked their position. for too long everyone's been dogging some other company for stealing ideas and whatnot like little immature kids. Nintendo is acting as the mature adult and saying "We're doing this. Whatever you think doesn't really matter because it fits and works well."

I think that they would make it so that you could go to a friends "town" if you have there wii friend code in your book

Yeah, Surely Wii is capable of having updates with downloads and things to personalize your character/space, but I don't know if it will really happen..It'd be great if it did, though
