Hey all,

What is your favorite book genre? Book? and or Comic?

My favorite genre is history ie British/American/Austrailian/Japanese/Russian anything really.  I love books on history.  I think that real life is way more interesting than fiction.  You can't write this stuff.  Don't get me wrong I love fiction too.  I just gravitate to the History section in book stores.

Fav. Books: Ghost Soldiers by Hampton Sides (history), LOTR (fiction)

Fav. Comic Books: Superman (haven't read any new ones in a while) I started when DC killed him.

I personally enjoy a good suspense novel. Or just something that looks interesting. Something set in the (real-world) past.

'Hearts In Atlantis' did it for me. Really good read if you're into Stephen King.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" is the greatest book of all time.

I like historical books, especially WW2. But I like reading other stuff as well, I keep an open mind.

hmm... i think i would say math or science books (if you have to take calculus or analysis and want to read an excellent book on the subjects written very elegantly and that gives a comprehensive understanding, i would highly recommend picking up texts by tom apostol... and i would strongly recommend the anecdotal or philosophical books by richard feynman, nobel prize winning physicist, to just about anyone).

but since most people consider those sorts of books bland, i guess i would say fantasy novels, philosophical novels (think hermann hesse or goethe) or the occasional excellent catcher-in-the-rye-tale (most of them are pretty lousy, but i do enjoy an excellent one every once in a while).

My all-time favorite genre is Fantasy/Fiction...but they need to have a real-world setting. I can't get too deeply involved in a novel/book if it's set in a land that doesn't resemble Earth at all. I lean toward Jaqueline Carey, Stephen King, C.E. Murphy...all good authors.
