(Tokyo, Japan - April 4, 2007) eSOL Co., Ltd. announced today that their leading embedded middleware products, "PrFILE2" FAT file system and "PrUSB/Host" USB host stack, were selected for the "Wii", from Nintendo Co.

I am very happy that we could take part in the development for Wii, a new game console from Nintendo. I believe that our products were selected because Nintendo highly-valued our long, successful history with many digital consumer products and high-reliability and functionality based on that. We will continue to provide superior products and technical services to strongly support developers in embedded software development
Cool! Nintendo has finally managed to get a company that'll make a USB storage device for Wii!

Omg, this made my day! I can't wait for this to come out! Thnx for the great find.
awesome find

this will be great for those who really need the memory
sweet. The Rooster has been portal'd!
but yeah this sounds like a great idea! I hope it comes out real soon in America, Japan and Europe.
Good job Rooster, some crdit should also go to Wenis because he found this information earlier, but put it in an existing thread.
But this is a great thing because there must a reason them to add more storage space.
This is awesome!!
Now demo downloads are posible!!
I just hope it dosen't cost to much.....
I hadn't thought about Demo Downloads. But you're right mr. luben!
I doubt they would just keep this feature in Japan and not other countries. The US is Nintendo's #1 consumer of the Wii so it would make sense to give this feature to other countries.
Hmmm, Now if only they put out a hard drive...If they can do a thumbdrive, then why not step it up a level?
a hard drive would be nice
Hopefully it'll be able to store game info and read streight from it.
oh, jeez. one step closer for piracy. next thing you know, people will be loading iso's off of these things.
Cool, this will help if they actually do the demo channel.
A demo channel would be awesome. But if it were able to read data, saves and whatnot wouldn't that defeat the purpose of using an SD card? Right now I don't need either, but it just makes me wonder.
I'm sure if this does happen then it won't be long until someone figures out how to use their own external harddrive. That will be a glorious day for me.
this does make one question the need for an sd card, but with the expanded storage will also come with a higher price, so it likely won't be for just everybody, but for people who really need to storage. i also think this drastically increases the chances of a download channel like mentioned before, but also the chances that ninty's version of PShome might be more expansive than most might have first imagined. i'm betting that ninty really plans to take a step towards getting to the core gamer with this in some interesting ways. can't wait to find out.
you can get pics on USB storage devices too, (for most of us) it's even easier than trying to copy stuff to an sd card.
You put an SD card into a camera and then you take a pic. From the camera SD card to the wii is alot easier then USB porting......
