Ya I think they just put that there because of the multiple games on different platforms.

IGN Review 9/10

Quote:
I always approach a review like this with some level of caution. The original Resident Evil 4 was an exceptional effort and little has changed in the two years since it debuted. But there it is, right? It's a two-year-old port with a handful of enhancements. How do you re-review that? The process wasn't nearly as difficult as it could've been. Our ratings scale exists to define our scores, and there's little doubt that RE4 remains as engaging, frightening and atmospheric as it was on 2005. Old or not, it's still great, and it deserves its place in Wii's top-tier of titles. The visuals aren't as impressive as they once were, true, but Wii owners do walk away with improved controls that enable a greater degree of shooting speed and accuracy, a true 16:9 widescreen mode and all the content extras of the PS2 build – all for a bargain price of $29.99. If you played the GameCube original, consider the Wii game the ultimate collector's edition – frankly, that's what it is; the culmination of the best from its predecessors with some added Wii improvements. And if you have never played RE4 before, consider the Wii release an absolute must-own experience.

The GCN original scored a 9.8 and the PS2 iteration and 9.5 in 2005. The Wii title is the best of the three, but it also arrives two years later, which is primarily why we've dropped the score. The fact is, while an amazing experience, RE4 does not push Wii in the same way it did GCN or PS2.

Has anyone grabbed this today? I ordered mine on Amazon, but it won't be shipping for weeks. None of the Best Buys in FL have it...they all claim they haven't received it yet.

Same with Gamestop...they said they expected it today, but haven't gotten anything yet.

Weird considering the release date was yesterday.

EDIT+++++++++++

Just picked this up at lunchtime!

Look forward to trying it!
Usually the date we're given it's the day the game is shipped and the stores won't receive it for another day or two.
Sounds good, but I'm still gonna rent it, I don't like risking my cash on Wii games that have no guarantees.

It's $30 bucks. You probably waste that much on fast food in one week.

It's a rad game. Been playing it all night.

Actually, I don't eat much fast food and I have to put money towards other things, so unless its an outstanding purchase then I'll rent it.
Must of the reviews were goo, the lowest I've seen was a 7 and others were 8.7 and above.
I really think this game is not getting the attention it deserves. THIS is the type of game that is really going to exploit what is so great about a Wii. After playing an adventure/shooter like this with the Wii controls, I could NEVER imagine using a "control pad" again.

Next level stuff here. Forget gfx, this IS next gen gaming.
I went against everything I said and picked it up. I mean after I heard it had the best of the GC version and the best of the PS2 version, I had to, and for $29.99....
They took out the decapitations D:
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - GC Vs Wii
I'm not sure about that..I mean if I can blow people's heads off with my gun, I'm not sure how much worse a chainsaw to the head is Smile
So what do you think of this game...is it good? Is it great? does it control well?
The first chapter or whatever it's called I got 97% accuracy, so that part of the game is much improved.  The game is still scary as hell.  The controls take a little time to get use to, and I think in some cases they make things a bit more complex, but for the most part, I'd suggest the "bargain game" to anyone.  One of the sites said this should be a Collector's Edition game because it has the best of the GC and PS2 games on 1 disc.

EDIT--------------------->

Here's something that bothers me though...

This is on the back of the RE4 Wii Edition box.  Now we all know RE4 is an amazing game, the graphics quite frankly are not "Unsurpassed" or "breakthrough"for what the Wii can do, the Gamecube yes, the PS2 yes, but the Wii.....NO.

Don't let this game set the standard for graphics...The Wii can do better.
97 % accuracy, thats ace! So I take it aiming is easy?
It ain't bad, but I'm really looking forward to the gun attachment.
Gun attachment + RE4 + very dark room = FTW!
