cant compete with that lol
dell's £200 deal +1gb mem upgrade and a better graphics card
Mine started off as an HP Celeron Machine
The only parts left are the DVD, CD and the case XD
How do i find out the exact system specs... do i have to use that dxdiag command or something
I cannot compete. Mainly because upgrading PC's is WAY too expensive.
Mine started off as a Dell dimensions E521, the only thing left from them is the case, mobo, and RAM
-AMD athlon X2 4600+ OC'd to 2.65GHz
-2GB DDR2 @667MHz
-Geforce PNY 7800GT (PCI-E x16) (upgrading to 8800GTS/8900 at next price drop which should be soon)
-160GB SATA Hard drive (7200RPM) + 160GB Lacie external HDD
-ASUS 18x Lightscribe Dual Layer DVD Burner
-extras: xbox 360 gamepad, dell mouse+ keyboard (don't see the point of flashy keyboards/mice)
-Windows XP SP2 Professional (no point in vista now with its bugs)
Heh, I just like laser mice, gives you an edge in shoot em ups
and same, I'm sticking with XP atm, games are still a little unstable on vista

Secondary Samsung 19" (1280x1024)
Creative 2.1 Speakers
Hauppauge TV Tuner (lower end model)
16x DL DVD Burner
Vista Premium
Wireless Laser Mouse, Standard Media Keyboard

Next upgrade will be MB. No overclocking, as I just don't have the time to deal with it anymore and I need a stable system. Say what you want about Vista... if your system can handle it, it's an amazing OS. Oh yeah, a Windows Experience Score of 5.0.
heh, It's not that my pc can't handle it, it's that the graphics card drivers for vista are still outperformed by the ones for XP, once that changes, I'll be getting vista ultimate ^^
I have a really really big p
..rocessor (what did you think I was going to say?)
Ok, it's not THAT big. This was built back in 2003:
AMD XP Sempron 3000
1GB DDR RAM
ATI All-in-Wonder 9600 Pro
WD 250GB ATA
Maxtor 300GB SATA (just died)
Can't recall what the motherboard is off the top of my head.
Meh by the time we are done waiting for vista to get stable/no bugs etc, service pack 1 and a price drop should already come out. The only reason to get vista now is if you are building a new system which needs a new OS.
Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz)
2GB DDR2 Duel Channel RAM
Mobo: Asus (Don't remember right now will edit soon)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4400
GFX Card: nVidia GTS 8600 (Dx10, HD compatible, 256 mb cache)
Memory: 2GB OCZ DDR2 800 Duel Channel
That's what I bought today... I don't know the Mobo cause it was replaced last minute by a better one, used to be a Foxxcon, but for some reason didn't work so they gave me a better one free of charge.
(The Asus)
-intel pentium 4
-512mb ram
-30GB HDD
-no video card
-15" LCD monitor
-windows vista home basic

no....no........no...video card?!
yep cant run much more than some N64 emulators
